I went with a friend to Thai Silk, it was only 4 minutes from Waterloo station. As we were going to the theatre and time was short we ordered the 5 to 7 menu which cost just over £7. It was superb almost too much to eat, each dish was deliciously flavoured .The service was excellent with attentive and friendly staff. I would highly recommend this restaurant. In fact it’s made me hungry thinking about it!! I will have to go back again.

Thank you so much for a wonderful complimentary meal. From the moment we walked in through the door we were made welcome by all members of staff. We were honoured to be taken on a guided tour and see all the facilities - the restaurant is very flexible for all kinds of occasion, be it a quiet evening for two, or a large party, a winebar and facilities for dancing and karaoke, private functions for weddings or business lunches and even a game of golf! Staff were very polite, friendly and made sure we were comfortable and happy. The service was quick and efficient and the menu was easy to understand with an excellent choice. The food was delicious and it was an adventure to try out new tastes, which we much enjoyed. Our taste buds weren't impaired by smokers in the restaurant area either.
The interior design of the restaurant is amazing and fascinating with many features to look at down to the smallest detail of a wonderful smell of lemon grass in the stairwell and loos, which are beautifully clean. In fact the place is clean throughout. Even the background music was at the right volume, not too over powering, but pleasant and adding to the atmosphere.

Visited this restaurant last week and was very impressed. The food was excellent and had a depth of fresh flavours I have not found in any other Thai restaurant than those I encountered in Thailand.
The waiting staff were knowledgeable, very friendly and let me and my guests eat and drink at our own pace which is unusual for such a busy restaurant..
I would encourage any diner to visit this retaurant and try some real Thai food that will blow their tastebuds away. My own recomendation is the Yellow Monkfish Curry, an absolute delight!!!!

I went with friends to Thai Silk Waterloo last night. The food was excellent, the best Thai food I've ever tasted - the fish cakes were to die for! The staff were polite and friendly and the service impeccable. Can't wait to go back.

We're Thai food junkies and on our recent visit to the UK from Toronto, we were lucky to find Thai Silk near the Old Vic.
Great bunch of guys and some of the best Thai Food we’ve eaten. Was very busy and the crowded room made us feel part of the London atmosphere. The Green Chicken Curry was one of the best we’ve eaten, and their Phad Thai was something to remember. Their prices were not too hard on our Canadian dollars either which meant we could go back, twice more, before we left London.
Thanks guys, you definately helped make our trip special.

I needed to book a restaurant in a hurry, I just found out it was a work colleague’s birthday the next day, and I needed a table for six, good food- great atmosphere-friendly staff. Thai Silk was recommended to me by one of the girls at work, one phone call later everything was arranged.
We all had a really great evening ,the staff were friendly ,the food excellent and the atmosphere was just right for a special occasion, I have been back three times now and would highly recommend Thai Silk for that special occasion or just for a great meal.

I went with a friend on the off-chance one Wednesday evening around 8pm. Not a good time! The place was jam-packed, so we had to wait by the bar until a table became free. The small bar area was like being across the road in Waterloo station at rush-hour. Waiters were running back and forth, calling out orders and other customers waiting for tables. It was frenetic! My friend caught the attention of the waitress who had directed us to the bar every time she went past us, who kept promising that a table was just about to become free.
When we did get seated, we wer very close to other tables, and it seemed that the restaurant staff would have been happier with fewer customers!
The starters were on thea average side, and i had a Thai coconut chicken curry for main ciurse, which I thought was tasty, but too sparing! I could have done with more rice (which was fairly bland) and more curry!
The meal was expensive, the ambience frenetic and I did not feel full at the end, so overall, not a place that I will be returning to.

I'm a food and travel writer who is an expert on Thailand.
Thai Silk's Thai food is very poor. The rice is overcooked, simple dishes such as Pad Kra Prao Kai (Chicken with holy basil) are oily, use the wrong ingredients and have little authentic flavour. All in all Thai Silk offers an Anglicised version of Thai food that you'd find in the tourist areas of Thailand. Very expensive as well.
