Pig Pig's Corner
Friday, March 26, 2010 - Misato is a Japanese restaurant in Chinatown specializing in serving no frills simple to prepare food in large quantities for minimal prices...One of our favourite udons in town has to be Misato's gyu udon (beef udon). The noodle itself is slightly soft but still have a nice chewy texture and wonderful to slurp up. The beef seemed a little different from the past, but is still served in large amounts and tasty. Meanwhile I had a tori kara age (deep fried chicken nuggets) with rice. The chicken nuggets were a bit tougher compared to before but seasoned well. I also ordered some curry sauce to go with the rice.
Cheap Eats In London
Thursday, July 16, 2009 - I went straight for the Ten Zara Udon which is a bed of buckwheat noodles topped with seaweed and served with a couple (miserly) of prawn tempuras...The Wife ordered a salmon bento box and when it arrived I realised why this place is so popular with students: It was frickin' massive! The box contained a generous portion of rice, a large piece of grilled salmon, a chicken batter ball, a couple of dim sum sized prawn dumplings, seaweed, salad, and a couple of california roles...Don't expect Jap fine dining but do expect to enter with hungry eyes and leave with full stomachs. That's my definition for cheap eats in London.
