your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne

I went to misato last night and i was surpised that we got seated very quick.

usually it is 45min wait or longer, well it was in the evening time and it was full of people so we were seating nowhere near the crowded which was nice, we order the usually myself, i had the chicken katsu curry, the menu had changed with price going up, well i didnt mind cause the kaut curry always been my favoure untill today

food took ages, instead of the sushu roll we were givin our main course first and after tht our sushi roll

my chicken katus curry dish had look liked it been on the table for a while, the curry was not running but all soggey and like it was lacking any sauce, very thick in flavour, well i told the waitress and she said that how curry suppose to be, and i swear she said in japanese to her collegaues bout my comment on how bad it was,

overally hunger the greatest spice and anyting taste good but u can tell everything was rushed or not bother, no wasshi in the sushi roll and rice was stales not bad for 20quid for 2 people

not going there again forget that.

It's all that simple.

If you have never tried Authentic Japanese food and service, and on the other hand, you've enjoyed the food at Wagamama, you would like this place for its 'little money, great portion' fame!

I know what to expect when such price is paid for a large amount of food, but I do expect the least politeness one should give as a waitress/waiter. They ignored you when you try to get some service, but they threw you the bill as soon as you finished eating.

In a westerner point of view, I wouldn't like the service.

In a easterner point of view, I wouldn't like the food, at least not the first thing I would want thinking of Japanese cuisine.

(review based on previous year)

I have walked past this place and I have always seen japanese/oriental people queeing up outside the door and wondered what the fuss is about?

I did try to get in but the queues were long, but one day I was in the area the there was no queue!. (you have to go OFF-PEAK - otherwise forget it!!!)

So why were all these people queing up? Well the food is cheap and portions big for the money. And the place is TINY!

When I read the menu - in the 'starters' section it has Sushi listed, so I ordered that and a 'main' meal. Only to find that the the 'sushi' was a meal in itself - hardly a starter!. I think it was £4 for a large platter of sushi, so I did not think I would be getting 8 or so pieces. So I did end up waisting my main meal.

My partner had chicken, but she though it was terrible and did not like the skin etc... So I loved this place, but she hated it.

But we both agree it was a cheap place to eat!

DON'T GO there as a place to meet your friends and sit there to chill out. This is a place you eat quick and then move on. It is a very small and tight place. And you have people queeing on the door, so you would feel guilty about hanging on to a table, whilst people are still waiting....

And don't turn up in a group - that is just plain dumb. And don't turn up with your "first" date!

I am looking to go back there soon!

Only young people gather there and it felt like I was back in high school's canteen. This is not the best Japanese place but but keep in mind tthat the staff must only be students and that service is not included. Food was plain and tea insipide.

Their business must be really good for them to be so impolite! Pity their attitude is so rough, food was decent size given the cheap price...

Cheaper than the average Japanese restaurant. The food is not that great if you know what it should be like. Some waitresses and the management are really rude and they make a point of it too. I almost left the whole food on the table and left without paying. Only my friend wouldn't let me do that out of respect for Japanese people. Wouldn't spoil my day by ever going there again. I'd rather pay 1 or 2 pounds extra for a much nicers service elsewhere!

I honestly don't understand why some people rate this place highly.

I'm from Japan, and I know what Japanese food is, and their food isn't really.

+people work there are simply rude.

Please go to decent Japanese restaurant somewhere else.

First time I visited Misato was in 2004. Now everytime I'm in London, I make it a point to go to this joint. My wife loves the food here, and recommends as a must for those who love japanese cuisine. Bear in mind, this is not fancy Japanese food. Go to Japan and people wil realize that Japanese don't eat Sushi regularly.

Simple menu. But the food is great. It was cheaper back in 2004 but it's still one of the cheapest eating place in the area. I try not to go there at peak periods. So either late/early lunch/dinner would be best time.

Service not great and place is bit tight on space, but who cares if the food is this great!!

Personal favorites: Teri Chicken Rice, Chicken Katsu Curry Rice.

Huge portions (roughly double you expect and 150% of what you'd want), the best value I've come across, tastes great.

Some odd westernizations, e.g. mackerel curry rice, green salad with salad cream-esque dressing (tasty at least), chicken teriyaki not tasting quite like BBQ enough, and no option to order green tea, but I forgive you for the portion size, for kindly separating the mackerel from the curry sauce, and for giving me 2 slabs of mackerel when I'd expect one.

I have come to expect (and condone) the following downsides:

The main meal plates are plastic and are typically placed (one rim) and then dropped (the other) onto the table in front of you.

The bill is given to you before you need it (they want to kick you out at lunchtime).

Cash only.

No green tea. No unlimited tea option.

You will have to queue if you arrive later than 1pm for lunch.

You may be forced to sit crammed next to some other couple despite there being loads of free space in the restaurant. I suppose this is because they anticipate further customers, but on one occasion they were so obstinate on this issue that I decided to leave and go somewhere else (try Okawari, Lisle St, West End).
