This was such a disappointment, after a couple of guinness in a lively bar with a relaxed atmosphere we went to the restaurant looking forward to our Irish stew as advertised.

The restaurant was empty which should have told us something! The menu a snack average balls brothers with nothing remotely Irish about it, no oysters and certainly no stew! No platters available and couldn'tyeven manage olives. The chowder tasted like something from a tin and I have never had, nor want to have again, mash with whole leaves of sage in it. We were asked about dessert but as we hadn't even been given a menu was slightly difficult -we left, NEVER to return - oh and still the restaurant was empty at 8pm on a Thursday - you have been warned!

Great atmosphere at lunch, seemed to be a fair few regulars in so it didn't feel as soulless as pubs can in this area. Food is good, definitely a notch or two above standard pub fare, and it's Irish-influenced as you'd expect. Very good smoked salmon on soda bread and huge portion of pork and Guinness sausages with champ and proper gravy. Colleague wasn't as happy with the Irish stew (looked a bit greasy/bland) but overall a very enjoyable meal. Will be back!
