Booked a table for Saturday night (24/11/07). When we arrived we were told that it didn't matter that we had booked, there were plenty tables and so were treated like a 'walk-in'. We weren't given a very good table ( usually when you book you have a better than even chance of a decent table) and as the night wore on we found ourselves sitting next to three members of staff having their dinner.( I think one of them might have been a manager)

At our table we were asked what we wanted to drink before we were given the wine list ( they must assume every one wants spirits or water ) and likewise about 1 minute after we were provided with menus we were asked if we were ready to order!?! I'll not go into anynore detail but I guess what I am leading up to is that, the service was woeful, amongst the worst I have experienced, and customer service was not high on their agenda.

Thats a pity because the food was very good. My wife had the mixed roasted vegetables with melted cheese followed by the baby chicken and the rich chocolate cake to finish. I had the air dried ham with parmesan shavings, beef filled ravioli and the mixed berries and ice cream (with liqueur). We had a nice bottle of wine too. The whole lot came to £90 when they added the suggested 12.5% tip.

Was it value for money? As far as the food and drink was concerned yes, were they interested in you as a customer - absolutely not. Would I go back - no, there are plenty other places where you can have food of the same standard but with a better all round experience.

Myself and 3 friends pre-booked the set menu. The choice of 3 starters and 3 mains was limited. We tried 3 times to order the wine and had to rely on a more expensive recommendation (although good) as they were out of Pinot Grigio.

We also enjoyed the 'hidden wine experience', and had to ask constantly for our glasses to be topped up.

One of the mains was listed as Salmon with spinach, my friend enquired if it was served with any vegetables or potatoes, the waitress nodded but needless to say it arrived and was just salmon and spinach. On complaining to another waiter he assured us he would sort it out and withing a couple of minutes we had 2 small bowls of saute potatoes and 1 of mange tout brought to the table. We were subsequently billed £11 for the pleasure which we complained about and it was eventually removed from the bill.

This is my first review and I eat out regularly but have never received such a bad combination of food, service and price.

Went to Getti Mayfair last night with 3 girlfriends for a quiet meal and good chat. Service was friendly and efficient if a little rushed - we had to ask them to let us have a few minutes before dessert which was not a problem. I think they realised then that we were there for the evening! Only problem was portion size and the fact that the set menu only has 2 options for starters and mains and we didn't fancy any of them, so were forced to eat off the a la carte which was on the pricey side! Starter of Bruschetta was lovely and a good size. We went for the cheapest main courses - Pennette amatriciana - whilst nice, was fairly small and a touch expensive at £9 and left me hungry, a friend had the carbonara - again nice, smallish and £10 and another friend had the ravioli - again nice but not enough! So beware this restaurant which looks reasonably priced, could turn out to cost you a hefty sum! We tried the dry white wine and the red valpolicella - both pleasant but at £4+ a small glass we felt was again rather expensive. A nice place, but we probably wont return! Have eaten at better establishments.

My recent experience at Getti on Jermyn Street was better than these other reviews would suggest. Service was friendly and efficient. My baked sea bass was moist and presented with eye appeal. This restaurant may not be a stand-out but is perfectly acceptable, especially if you are attending the Jermyn Streeet Theatre next door.

Been several times for lunch. Have always found the food good with enough interesting variation in the menu and reasonably priced for central London. Service is friendly rather than slick and have never encountered the disasters of other reviewers. Ambiance is pleasant - airy seldom very crowded.

Ridiculous. The food is just about ok but the style is not Italian by any real sense of the word. The decor is interesting and if they worked on some atmosphere would probably be quite pleasant. However, the most most appalling aspect of Getti is the service. It started badly, got worse and eventually became nothing less than farcical. It would have been funny had we not been paying not insignificant prices to eat there.

My order was taken twice, once by the waitress, and once by the manager who declared 'I know you have already ordered, but I'm going to take it again because I want you to get what you ordered'...interesting.

My wine arrived and was promptly taken away again. 15 mins later it turned up in an ice bucket (by the end of the starter). Another table's wine was then deposited in the same bucket which then degenerated into a (not unamusing) challenge for the waitress who forgot whose wine was whose, which she eventually resolved by removing both bottles and bucket and scurrying off to the bar.

Altogether an absurd restraunting experience, I thought it was just a bad night for them but on the basis of what others have said and the fact the restraunt was empty...not worth the risk.

Had the pre-theatre meal last week, which was adequate at best and not particually Italian. The service was appalling, I would not recomend this place to anybody.

This place is overpriced and the foodsin't great.

Their mushroom risotto was bland and and zero mushroom flavour - I can knock up a risotto of my own that tastes infinitely better than this.

A grigliata for £19 promised prawns, scallops and a medley of seafood. There was a single lonely prawn in the whole dish, a single (not even whole) scallop, a tiny piece of squid, 2 microscopic pieces of tuna and one other small piece of white fish. There were three small dices of potato and a lump of lemon. It tasted fine but was seriously bad value for money.

Oh - and one of the waiters was rude to one of my friends.
