Went to Getti on Valentine’s Day. I was a little concerned to find the place half empty considering it was 8pm on what ought to be one of the busiest days of the year. On arriving the place was woefully cold so we asked if the heating could be turned up - this was flatly refused though we did manage to move to the table next to it away from the stream of cold air from the air con (this being the middle of February when it must have been 1 or 2 degrees outside). Looking around everyone was leaving their jackets on.
My girlfriend ordered a tea to drink initially to warm herself up. This arrived in a pot that was dirty. Moving on to the starters, the bread that arrived was stale and the calamari that was advertised as having chilli sauce had none. Probably one of the worst starters I’ve ever had. We then waited over an hour for the main courses to arrive, despite numerous complaints. We were told it was because it was very busy, but looking around at least 1/3 of the tables were empty. When the food finally arrived my pasta dish did not contain any of the basil as described on the menu and my girlfriend's swordfish was not served with the spinach as described on the menu. When she challenged the waitress on this, she was told she was mistaken. We asked to see a menu and after waiting 10 minutes for this to be brought to us we confirmed we were correct.
After another 10 minutes or so of waiting (20 minutes after the main dish had been served and 1 hour 20 mins since the starters) a dish of spinach was brought to us, though with no word of apology.
Whilst my dish, though extremely plain for the price, was satisfactory, my girlfriend's fish did not taste fresh and the spinach was utterly awful.
The bill did at least have 10% knocked off it for the poor service and no service charge was included (as I believe is normally the case). That said this was probably the worst service I have ever had at any restaurant. I had been here one time previously when the food was good (though not outstanding) but the service poor. This, incidentally, used to be my girlfriend’s favourite Italian restaurant so it has clearly deteriorated in a very big way. I will not be returning.

I went to getti, jermyn street, last Saturday.
I, my husband and a couple of friends asked the manager and according to my husband who has 6 restaurants in new york, he gave, with a lot of experience and good preparation, some advice on wine. he described various wines and his proposal was a white wine that is called lughiana. excellent and perfect for our dinner.
we ate grilled fish, seabass and 2 amatriciana.
the music was great, the setting excellent and the staff a little inexperienced, but very attentive and kind.
applause to the manager and who owns the restaurant. i would advise you all to have an evening at getti.

Booked a table for Saturday night (24/11/07). When we arrived we were told that it didn't matter that we had booked, there were plenty tables and so were treated like a 'walk-in'. We weren't given a very good table ( usually when you book you have a better than even chance of a decent table) and as the night wore on we found ourselves sitting next to three members of staff having their dinner.( I think one of them might have been a manager)
At our table we were asked what we wanted to drink before we were given the wine list ( they must assume every one wants spirits or water ) and likewise about 1 minute after we were provided with menus we were asked if we were ready to order!?! I'll not go into anynore detail but I guess what I am leading up to is that, the service was woeful, amongst the worst I have experienced, and customer service was not high on their agenda.
Thats a pity because the food was very good. My wife had the mixed roasted vegetables with melted cheese followed by the baby chicken and the rich chocolate cake to finish. I had the air dried ham with parmesan shavings, beef filled ravioli and the mixed berries and ice cream (with liqueur). We had a nice bottle of wine too. The whole lot came to £90 when they added the suggested 12.5% tip.
Was it value for money? As far as the food and drink was concerned yes, were they interested in you as a customer - absolutely not. Would I go back - no, there are plenty other places where you can have food of the same standard but with a better all round experience.

Myself and 3 friends pre-booked the set menu. The choice of 3 starters and 3 mains was limited. We tried 3 times to order the wine and had to rely on a more expensive recommendation (although good) as they were out of Pinot Grigio.
We also enjoyed the 'hidden wine experience', and had to ask constantly for our glasses to be topped up.
One of the mains was listed as Salmon with spinach, my friend enquired if it was served with any vegetables or potatoes, the waitress nodded but needless to say it arrived and was just salmon and spinach. On complaining to another waiter he assured us he would sort it out and withing a couple of minutes we had 2 small bowls of saute potatoes and 1 of mange tout brought to the table. We were subsequently billed £11 for the pleasure which we complained about and it was eventually removed from the bill.
This is my first review and I eat out regularly but have never received such a bad combination of food, service and price.

Went to Getti Mayfair last night with 3 girlfriends for a quiet meal and good chat. Service was friendly and efficient if a little rushed - we had to ask them to let us have a few minutes before dessert which was not a problem. I think they realised then that we were there for the evening! Only problem was portion size and the fact that the set menu only has 2 options for starters and mains and we didn't fancy any of them, so were forced to eat off the a la carte which was on the pricey side! Starter of Bruschetta was lovely and a good size. We went for the cheapest main courses - Pennette amatriciana - whilst nice, was fairly small and a touch expensive at £9 and left me hungry, a friend had the carbonara - again nice, smallish and £10 and another friend had the ravioli - again nice but not enough! So beware this restaurant which looks reasonably priced, could turn out to cost you a hefty sum! We tried the dry white wine and the red valpolicella - both pleasant but at £4+ a small glass we felt was again rather expensive. A nice place, but we probably wont return! Have eaten at better establishments.
