An hour's wait for a table, but this was made more supportable by the issue of a pager so one can wander off to the Rock Shop, a local bar or even (just) the nearer edge of Green Park. Food surprisingly good (the creme brulee was excellent) and service was first rate (thank you Tom). Expensive, however, and the loos not up to scratch. Metal Boy observed that, for a cafe called the Hard Rock, the music videos included an awful lot of pop. I mean, A-Ha...

I took my daughter after an OK visit with my son. There was a queue but it soon dissipated and we were given a spaceship (electronic page) and escorted to the bar. We were told to expect around a 30 minute wait, that was exactly the time our spaceship went off and we were taken to a table. Busy time and the waitresses were really challenged, but they were civil and responded to requests in a timely fashion. Burgers were great, house wine acceptable and desserts OK. Atmosphere was great and that is partly the reason why people go and put up with a crowded restaurant. Do not try anything non american on the menu, pasta looked like seaweed. You will get what you pay for, bearing in mind where you are, its London prices.

Visited Hard Rock on a Wed afternoon, basically to have a drink and add to our Hard Rock Souvenir glass collection. We told waitress that we didnt need any food and were directed to the bar, so far so good. We took a seat at a vacant table beside the bar and I went to the bartender to order.

First problem, he wouldnt serve me 2 pints and a souvenir glass, I "had to buy 2 bottles if i wanted the glass". Eventually he understood what i wanted, his english was awful, and we sat down with our drinks (flat lager by the way). Another waitress came over and using "hand actions" asked if we were eating. I speak english, am not deaf and this was quite a condescending motion. When I said no, she said we have to sit at the bar if we were not eating. There were at least 5 empty tables, no one waiting to be seated and NO SEATS at the bar anyway !! I asked if we could stay at the table, and would move if they needed it. NO was the reply, "it was the rules". I decided to then go and sit outside just to make our life easier. I asked for the manager, so i could speak about the issue. 10 mins later, i went back to waitress, who was still babysitting her friends child, and asked why no manager had come, she looked vacantly at me, spoke in broken spanish and said that he was busy in a meeting, turned her back on me and that was that.

A warm friendly service from the team !!!!! NOT !!!! If this had been my first Hard Rock experience, i wouldnt visit another one. Worst service in any restaurant, cafe, bar I have ever experienced.

It is the nations capital and NO-ONE in the team spoke english as a first language. Great example to set to our visitors, never mind our fellow nationals.

Hard Rock, get your act together and bring this Cafe up to the standard of your other venues, It has a long way to go, but on the plus side, it can't get any worse.

Have not been to Hard Rock Cafe London in years but have to say it was a really great night. I went for a friends Birthday and the food, staff and service was great. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they even got the whole cafe to sing Happy Birthday to my friend!

I don't know that they now have a special area for all the rare guitars and memo. I even got my photo taken with Chilli Peppers guitar...which just made my day.

I recently celebrated a friends b'day at Hard Rock Cafe London. On arrival, there was a queue outside which was initially off putting but surprisingly it moved really quickly. Once we got to the front, we had a 30 minute wait. We were given a pager and advised to have a drink in the bar or visit 'The Vault' - a little music museum in the basement of the Rock Shop. We did the vault tour while we waited for our table, it was absolutely amazing! Really interactive and informative - we got to take photographs of us holding Flea, from Red Hot Chili Peppers, guitar. Once seated, we had a great meal - the American food is what they do best - our group mostly ordered burgers, ribs and steak - all brilliant. One friend had the pasta and it was average, but if you want pasta, go to an Italian restaurant. Our waitress was amazing, organised balloons for the table when she knew we were celebrating a b'day and put candles in the brownie we ordered then got the whole restaurant to sing happy birthday! the waitress also told us that the Manic Street Preachers are playing there late November - and Brian May was on the table next to us! After all these years, it is still cool and the place to be seen

I am italian and I have been to Hard Rock Cafe yesterday night.

We were looking for a table for 3 people and having some drinks. The waitress told us that the tables inside were reserved for those who likes to eat some food so we sat outside.

We waited more than 10 minutes to get our drinks menu until a waiter came outside and said "Hello guys". We asked for a drink menu and he was looking around like he didn't know what a drink menu was. 5 more minutes passed and finally he came to our tables telling us that the bar was closing and that we could only ask for a round of drinks. That's ok.

After a while, we were ready to order our drinks and guess what? Nobody came outside to take the orders. I went inside the cafe and I told the barman we would like to order some drinks and he told me that the bar was already CLOSED. Shame on the whole place and staff. I will never come back.

Cheese and Biscuits

Cheese and Biscuits - 2/10

Friday, April 01, 2011 - Where do I start? Perhaps with the onion rings, and a breadcrumb casing that shattered at the slightest touch and left you to fight with a slimy grey tapeworm of chewy onion inside; or perhaps with the buns which were splintered and desiccated, as flavourless and insubstantial as polyester sofa cushion filling. But no, let's talk about the meat itself - grey, crumbly and bitter thanks to disastrous overcooking, accompanied by a square of salty carbon I can only guess had once been streaky bacon, and yet topped incredibly with a sheet of largely cold - and uncooked - cheap cheddar.
