Last week my friend and I met up for lunch and after some deliberation decided to eat at The Little Square in Shepherds Market because we could sit outside next to the french windows.

From start to finish the experience was absolutely fantastic.

Our waitress (Italian) was knowledgeable, courteous, efficient and friendly, and was able to recommend us the Calamari for starters and the grilled chicken skewer for main course. When we both asked if it would be possible to have some vegetables instead of the basmati rice she said "Of course you may, no problem at all".Now that is the kind of service I like!

Overall we had a brilliant dining experience with mouthwateringly delicious, freshly cooked, well-presented food, attentive service and very good value for money.

In fact I liked The Little Square so much that i'm going back for lunch there with a business colleague.

We have come too late, before closing the restaurant. We ran out of thick potato chips, chef sent someone from the kitchen. Before the minute he threw garbage out. Probably not wash their hands. They were a little dirty. The dirty little container brought us chips because I saw them myself. Until that hit my chair, and without a word of apology. I guess he was angry that we are so late. His face was terrible. Never go back there ! So rude !

I had lunch here with a business colleague recently, and we had an excellent meal. It is difficult to find anywhere in the West End where one can have a relatively simple, quick and unpretentious lunch without paying the earth, but this is certainly one such. We ate upstairs but the service was attentive and relaxed; they even turned the indifferent piped music down when asked to.

There is a lot of choice in Shepherd Market, much of it good, but this restaurant is particularly worth trying.

I booked a table the Sunday of the London Marathon for my boyfriend (who run it) his family and friends. Based on the positives reviews, 3 of us ordered the burger. I ordered mine medium-rare and it arrived cooked throughout, very dry and tasteless. Being a fan of raw meat, I was hugely disappointed (but so were the 2 others who got a well done for their 'medium').

Service was very attentive though and the waiter apologized and offered to replace it straight away. I explained that I would keep it so not to waste food and the waiter said that it wouldn't get billed.

The other guests all had pasta and really enjoyed their meal and the deserts, but don't go for the burger if you don't like it overdone!
