This is a high quality restaurant. Forget the austere hotel like decor or lack of atmosphere and concentrate instead on the food on your plate. It delivers 100% on recognisable but cleverly executed menu choices that will appeal to everyone; coupled with outstanding value for money and attentive service. You will eat everything on your plate and 4 generous courses is just right for lunch when you have the time on your hands. Those that seek high fashion will not visit but they will be missing some of the best food you are ever likely to eat in London or anywhere else in the world.

I recently visited Foliage for my birthday and I must say it was absolutely wonderful.

The staff where perfectly polite and friendly without being over attentive.

The decor was very understated and comfortable - we sat at our table for about three hours and never once felt the need to move.

The food was out of this world. Everything was beautifully prepared and tasted wonderful.

I couldn't have been happier with a birthday meal and would definitely be going back once my wallet has recovered!

We had lunch at Foliage very recently and I can only recommend this venue in the strongest terms. It must be the best value for money lunch menu in town. Mouth watering menu in fantastic surroundings and with the most friendlt staff. Absolutely great.

We ate here on a midweek lunchtime.

Service was on the over-attentive side of good (it was a little alarming to have the maitre'd run over to our table to enquire whether everything was to our satisfaction ...)

Food was extremely well executed - pork belly and langoustine with a peanut glaze was exquisite and the cheeseboard was to die for.

Ambience was odd. At 1pm there were no other lunchers in the restaurant by at 2.30 the restaurant was packed. Perhaps they lunch late in Knightsbridge.

Foliage serves the best value lunch in London, without doubt. It was simply one of the best meals we've ever had, and at around £30 each including 2 glasses of wine, you're not going to get better value anywhere. And unlike many other restaurants of this calibre, the lunch menu is available on the weekends (which is a godsend if, like me, the a la carte menu is out of your budget)!

Sure, the decor may look 20 years out of date, but who cares when the food is this good?

We visitied for lunch last weekend and were thoroughly pleased. The set lunch offers excellent value and the two glasses of wine coming with it were very well chosen. My starter of sweatbreads with jamon was very nice while my partners salmon was fine but not exceptional. The main dishes of lamb and halibut were both very nice. Desserts were nice as well even though I would prefer to have the creme brulee te traditional way in a ramekin rather than spread out across the plate.

Staff were attentative, relaxed and friendly. Our table with a view towards Hyde Park was very good and all in all

it was a very pleasing lunch that we thoroughly enjoyed.

Foliage was recommended by many friends as a "hidden treasure" in the London dining scene.

My wife and I decided to go for lunch around a month ago to try their Menu of the day priced a £32 with two glasses of wine included.....exceptional value to say the least!

Overall an increadible experience, both food and service alike!

Tuesday, October 28, 2008 - Foliage is hidden deep within the 150-year-old former Hyde Park Hotel - previously patronised by Edward VIII, Churchill, Valentino and Gandhi (for whom a goat was daily milked) - in part of what was once the Park Restaurant. To find it, one must climb the gilded staircase, traverse the marble lobby, negotiate the loud, trendy Mandarin Bar, navigate past opposing, open-glass, 5,000 bottle wine cupboards into the bright rotunda antechamber before finally reaching the calm, serene, cream and green dining room.
