This is the best Japanese restaurant in London and possibly Europe. Down to earth but also elegant and gracious with extremely delicious food. The family members who run the restaurant, Kimmiko, Daiichi and Kensuke are utterly professional and kind and Sukimoto-san (?) - the chef at the kitchen counter is a creative genius. Sushi is also sublime. My favourite dishes are the vegetable soup and the deep fried shitake, shiso leaf and shrimp. I have spotted Paul Weller and Elvis Costello here and there are many Japanese and no doubt visitors from Claridges. The food and drink are quite expensive but because of their extremely high quality represent excellent value for money. I am an addict and come every two or three weeks - it is like settling in to a warm bath. And watching the chaps wash the dishes at the kitchen counter is more enjoyable, informative and relaxing than watching Newsnight. I can't understand why it doesn't have a Michelin star.

This is the best quality, freshest sushi i have eaten in London - sushi lunch A is superb - and the service is excellent. the decor is pretty dated but if you want quality Japanese food this is the place to go; the tempura and other dishes such as the smoked mackrel are also excellent. And i like the refreshing pieces of orange at the end.

The atmosphere is amazing, the food excellent and is one of my favourite Japanese restaraunts in London.
