American Bar (The Stafford)
your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne
Popped in here yesterday afternoon to escape the rain and ended up staying for a bite to eat.
The courtyard setting is great and I loved the look of the bar, very old school but my type of hotel bar.The food was everything you would expect from a bar in a 5 star hotel at 5 star prices. My club sandwich was good as was my friends fish and chips, but at £14 and £19 each they needed to be.
Drink prices were verging on the ridiculous, £9.50 for a Baileys and £14 for a Pimm's gave me a shock, but we also had a bottle of Pol Roger which seemed good value at £55.
Service was fine, a bit to pushy at the start, coming to ask if we wanted another drink every 5 minutes and then the opposite when we wanted our champagne topped up and had to go and hunt for our bottle.
Overall and cool place for a few drinks for a special occasion.
