Les Trois Garcons

Well I never did. They ask for a credit card number when booking a table. They don't bother to explain what they intend to do with it. I'm afraid I never got any further than that. I'm sure they think this is fine, but it smacks of a certain sort of arrogance, and that's usually not the kind of place I enjoy having dinner.

I been to all the well known restaurants in london mainly entertaining clients from abroad and I am embarassed to say that this the first time I have been to this restaurant and this side of town for that matter.I feel like kicking myself as to have missed out all this time on a truly magical exprience. The food, service and ambience is second to none.It took a client of mine to suggest Les Trois Garcons for me to come here and as a londoner I was truly ashamed to be shown the most amazing venue by a non londoner, especially as it took me 20 minutes by cab from central london.Well done ,I will be back!

I never review restaurants, but am compelled to have my say at Les Trois Garcons. A (since departed) girlfriend dragged me there a year ago. The decor was as bizarre and outrageous as everyone says, along with the prices, and the food was very, very average and disappointing. A year (and new girlfriend) later, I gave it a second try. What a change! Our waiter told me a new chef (Henri?) had taken over and the food was the best part about the next experience. It's one of the best places in the city now if you ask me.

WOW turns to OW when you are literally whisked off your table after the allocated 2 hrs which was a shame as our bill was almost £500 for 6 people and we didn't get a chance to finish off our coffees. It's an amazing place and the food good but unfortunately the service left a bit of a bitter after taste. We do a lot of client entertaining (as this night), but think we'll have to give this a miss in future.

As Americans visiting London on holiday, we tried Les Trois Garcons on the recommendation of a friend. We are into food and are very fussy about restaurants. After our first meal there, we made the cab trek from our hotel in the West End to Shoreditch three more times (in six days) to eat our way through Swiss chef Jerome Henry's fabulous menu. It's rare to find high-end 'stylized'food that is bursting with freshness and flavor! flavor! flavor! Although we were older than the typical crowd and American to boot, the service was unfailingly friendly and polite. And of course the decor . . . it has to be seen to be believed. In conversations with our wait staff, it seems that chef Henry is relatively new -- I forget when he started -- and according to the waiters, the food keeps getting better and better. This place deserves a Michelin star! Rave, rave, rave. Ten out of ten.

I was part of a group of 10 having a business dinner at this restaurant. Our overall experience was excellent. Every morsel of food was eaten, and serveral indulged in the evenings special of chateaubriand. I had a beet root salad and the fois gras started, both exquisite. Service was excellent, which is not easy feat for a table of 10. It is a quirky place in a part of town that looks a little creepy late at night, but they never said a word as we stayed on drinking wine, and had cabs at the ready for us when we fianlly left. I would reccomend this place highly.

Just after holidays I decided to go back to this establishment to find that is just getting better and better. The menu is fresh and consistent and the service professional at all levels. To all of us that enjoy going to restaurants is nice to find a restaurant in east london where everything makes sense. As the company grows Les Trois Garcons restaurant is still kept good looked after. Time is making a classic out of this restaurant and still so perfect to impress visitors and friends.
Well done Guys!

My boyfriend and I go to some French restaurants because we like the... well, 'Frenchness' of them. And these guys are certainly all onions and peaked caps! Expect to be treated like you're a bit of a pain in the derierre, but none-the-less be served promptly and efficiently. The decor is out of this world (let's just say they're into bizarre taxidermy), the food is exquisite, the wine menu is... long and French and if you can put up with the attitude, you'll love it! Oh, and if you do go, book yourself into the adjoining bar, Lovers Lounge, for a pre-meal cocktail. You'll be greeted by stunning girls dressed in air-hostess outfits. A great place to finish the evening too - it's pretty kinky!

I am definetly on the love it side when it comes to this restaurant. My food was perfect, exactly how i like it,very fresh high quality ingredients which tastes as it should and not fiddled about that it does not resemble its origin.Very creatively executed. The service was unobtrusive and unpretentious.I cannot agree less with the previous reviewer and everyone who eats out often knows that wine suppliers to restaurant always replace corked wine and therefore it does not cost the restaurant anything to replace it.I find it highly improbable a venue of this high calibre would refuse to replace a bottle of corked wine.

Judging from past mixed reviews this is either a place that you love or hate, with no in-between. For this reason I simply had to give it a go, wondering which side I would be on. It all started promising with fab decor, which invoked a hearty discussion - the menu was also promising and we, eagerly anticipating a good night, ordered and sat back. This is where my opinion changed. I found the service to be slow and rude, an example: a wait of 20 mins to order wine, which, like a previous comment - was corked (consistent?) and the waiter refused to replace. The actual courses were vastly over-priced and undersized. And in any event, devoided of taste. However, I assume this may appeal to some people.
