Just Oriental

I was apprehensive when a friend booked this place having read the other reviews, but this place is really quite ok. Food was fine, service a bit inexperienced but it didn't give rise to any problems. Atmosphere not great as the restaurant are was fairly empty, may be three other tables occupied (it was a Friday evening, we got there about 9.15). I agree the portions are small, but it's reflected in the pricing. Between two of us, we had two starters, 3 "bowl dishes" , rice and a bottle of wine, and it all came in under £50, which seemed incredibly reasonable. I could have done with one more dish, but that wouldn't have changed the price much. I wouldn't rush back, but neither would I object if someone suggested going there. Don't go late if you don't like loud music though, later in the evening they start turning it up in the bar area, and it makes conversation a little difficult.

Some of the worst food I have ever eaten in London. The gyoza was cold and soggy, the sushi rice tasted pickled, and the salt and pepper squid was coated in undercooked batter and then served on an iceberg lettuce salad. Hot food on iceberg lettuce? All the dipping sauces tasted as though they came straight out of a bottle. There are plenty of places in London that serve decent food. No need to put yourself through the dreadful experience of dining at Just Oriental!

Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere but was dissappointed by the very small selection on the lunch menu - a choice of 5 starters and 5 mains!

The food was decent but definately not the best in Thai cuisine. The portions were quite small as well. I did enjoy my lunch - but you could definately do better.

Pleasant decor and table spacing. The food is tasty though the portions are teeny weeny. The service is friendly and relaxed (slow). Fine for a business lunch if you're not hungry or in a hurry.
