Last night my friends and I decided that we really wanted pizza so we headed to the Lansdowne. It was, as always, the best pizza in London. We ordered six different pizzas to share and they were all fantastic. We'll definitely be going back.

Probably the most insulted I have ever been in my life. On closing time once we had paid the bar staff told us to f. off. We had not been misbehaving and were just standing by the bar talking. Still speechless.

i thought that the service was atrocious. the fact that all the staff always seem so miserable is clearly down to the fact that the gm has no idea how to run an establishment like this. i ate here the other week and the food was no where near the standard it used to be....there is clearly a dispute in the kitchen at this time as the gm was cooking...where is the head chef?? the menu is not as diverse and seasonal as it it used to be either. it seems that this place has fallen rather than risen since the arrival of the new "management".poor.

Excellent food, great wine list, great vibe! This place is excellent for mid-week dinners & Sunday lunches....

The upstairs a-la carte restaurant offers a more cosy and romantic feel.

I thought this place had a laid back atmosphere. Quite busy when i went full of trendy young things, the staff were friendly and the food's not too expensive considering the quality. The pizza i had was pretty damn good to tell the truth, spring greens on a pizza sounded a bit of the ordinary but was superb. I will definately be paying another visit.

we went here last night for a birthday meal. i still don't know what the reason was, but it took 45 minutes for our starters to arrive and 2 hours !! for the mains. the restaurant upstairs (where we were) was busy and apparently so was the pub below. it seemed everyone was waiting for a long time for their food though. when it came, it was certainly tasty. the yellow fin tuna starter with mini roast potatoes and a creamy dressing was cooked perfectly, the fish a little overpowered by the dressing. the soup was good, and chorizo (i am told) delicious. the mains of steak, sea bream and penne with artichoke were all well-cooked, but the meat and fish were no better than that, the penne being a little more adventurous and tangy. the waitresses were extremely apologetic, and were working as hard as they could to rectify the situation. i have to say that whilst the food was certainly good gastropub fair, i wouldn't even have considered returning were it not for the gracious offer to not charge us for the food, and due to that unexpected but sensitive consideration, i would return for a leisurely meal, for an occasion when i have hours to kill and i'm not too hungry!!

The thought of going to primrose hill for a sunday lunch was expensive and it was, but at least it was worth it. The beef roast with trimmings was what a beef roast with the trimmings should be, enough food to keep me going til monday add a good bottle of red and you dont notice the bill.

I just love this place. The food is consistently good...better than good...when it is delicious it is well and truly delicious. Plus, its got a lovely vibe. People bag on it for being trendy and snooty but I've never found it that way. That, in fact, sounds more like a description of the Engineer down the street...

I wasn't absolutely convinced by the upstairs restaurant - there was only one waiter on for 7 tables, and he was clearly stretched; forgot to bring bread, wine, someone's starter. Not necessarily his fault as he was trying his best, but the thing I was disappointed by was the food, as it had been much better on my first visit.

I ordered the mushroom risotto and it was drizzled with basil oil, which didn't really go at all. Unfortunately they had run out of their absolutely excellent steak, which I think is the thing to go for.

Almost always too hard to get a table for pizza- aloof service and painfully posh young things inhabit the downstairs bar. But that's all the more reason to sneak upstairs... The restaurant's peaceful and relaxing and the staff are attentive but don't fuss around you. Some great wines match a lovely menu that shifts with seasonality. Portions are generous and prices resonable. Huge sash windows let in the gentle summer breeze or keep the room cosy, depending on the season. I'm not a local but I've always been able to find a table upstairs without booking in advance - I doubt many people know it's even there! I bring my overseas visitors here after a walk through Regents Park and taking in the view over the city from Primrose Hill. It's never failed to impress. The great food always leaves me with a warm glow and that's not just down to the wine!
