Living locally i spend a few nights drinking, despite loud atmosphere, this is a really nice pub. Went for food the other day, everyone of my gourp ordered pizzas and i ordered a Beef burger with tapenade, salad and potaoes. I was quite surprised to see what i got. I got a plate with a round nicely cooked beef, but no bun, or tomato, a rocket salad with small slices of red onions, and baked potatoes. No sauce or mustard or ketchup or anything to go with it. When i asked if i got the right dish, the waitress said yes. When i complained that what i had in front of me was a plate with a round grilled beef and a salad, and that wasnt a burger as i was missing the bun, onions and/or tomatoes, she replied saying that the menu doesnt say that it comes with bun or tomato, so i shouldnt be expect every burger to be the same!! But then dont call it a beef burger Lansdowne?! Are you for real?! at £12.50?! Cant pubs do normal food anymore? Please stop making changes to what is a normal dish Lansdowne. What should i expect next time? Bangers and Mash, with just sausages and mash potato, but without the gravy? Very poor.

We had a wonderful time at The Lansdowne. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, with Jonny leading the way making sure we were taken care of and having a great time. The room was full of people enjoying the relaxed atmosphere, delicious food and great drink selection. We had a pizza that was top notch, but everything we saw at the tables around us looked so good that it made us wish we had enough appetite left to order more food!
This was the perfect place to unwind and finish a great night on the last evening of our holiday. We will most certainly be back the next time we are in London.

I love this place! Been coming here for years and although there have been ups and downs in the last year it's clear that things have settled now. The food is great and the menu changes every few weeks so I never get bored no matter how often I go and if all else fails their pizzas are the bomb!
The staff know their stuff, they smile and genuinely seem to care.
I generally sit downstairs with mates, but last night i brought a date upstairs for a special wine tasting night they were doing and the room was amazing, wish i'd ventured up the stairs sooner. The date wasn't great, but it's a really cozy space for a quiet dinner.
Check it out!

The Landsdowne always had a good reputation for serving fresh, well prepared food with seasonal ingredients but I am sadly to report these days are gone. I went there with a friend for Sunday lunch and we were both hugely disappointed with the food, customer service and general aspect of the place (they had two jars of bloody mary behind the sticky bar ready to be served after the many flies had helped themselves first).
I ordered spinach fritters with spicy lentils and my friend ordered the lamb steak with mash potatoes. The presentation of my fritters was quite shocking and it didn't taste good either. Two uncooked oily pancakes with tinned lentils on top of it and some greek salad (!!!) on the side.
My friend's lamb seemed much more presentable on top of the mash and a beautiful looking gravy. Sadly, the meat was really tough, over cooked and the gravy was full of vinegar which made the whole thing taste rather sour.
I sent my dish back to the kitchen after 2 bites, was offered something else by the waiter but couldn't risk having another badly executed meal and asked for a refund instead just to be told by the manager that it wasn't part of the company policy to offer refunds if the client is not satisfied with the standard of the meal. Great policy!!! I was expecting much more for £9.50.
If you are after a decent meal in a pub with good atmosphere, don't bother going there. An insider told me their head chef is leaving looking for "fresh challenges" and the kitchen has been left to under paid trainees. Enough said, the area is full of good options, so look elsewhere but don't waste your time and money there.

The Lansdowne used to be a good bet, good atmosphere, relaxed vibe, good service and reasonable if pricey food.
I am not sure if it has changed hands recently but I see it is now part of a chain of 4 pubs.
Certainly the quality is well down, poor service and very variable food. My belly of pork managed the trick of being dry and with soggy crackling - on complaining the chef responded that that was how they were always cooked. Pizza was soggy. Service at the bar preferred friends of the bar staff. As a small plus the prices are down a bit....
They have also stopped families bringing in pushchairs at the weekend - fair enough perhaps as they take up space but the place is obviously trying too hard to be cool and has stopped being cool as a result.
Overall not worth making a trip for - there are plenty better places nearby.

Went for a pizza last night with a friend. we both ordered the mushroom, which came without the thyme and garlic (there were only 5 ingredients to remember). It was sooo thin and soggy, took half and hour to arrive and at £9.50 a pop i would suggest you eat somewhere else - what a joke! The place was packed though and has a pretty good atmophere, just don't go for the food.

I travelled across London to eat at The Lansdowne last night, and sadly it was a huge disappointment. We all ordered pizzas, and were let down by all of them. The main problem was the lack of toppings, especially cheese (quite crucial!) - there were literally 4 tiny blobs of mozzarella on each. The pizzas also all arrived cold.
We complained to the manager, who said it was 'unforgivable', but returned with exactly the same pizzas, which had obviously just been bunged in the microwave for a few seconds each.
At £10 a pop, this place is having a laugh at the customer's expense, and I certainly won't be returning.

As a local I've tried the Lansdowne 4 times now for food and that's enough. Badly cooked overpriced food is the best description. Do yourself a favour and walk a block over to L'absinthe or Lemonia.

My last visit for a Sunday lunch was ruined by extremely poor service. We had to wait over an hour for a drinks order and a little longer to get our food served, despite several reminders when we could get the attention of the serving staff. To be fair they were very busy and there were only two of them serving the entire top floor, but still I think it's reasonable to expect more. The food has always been average at best, so we won't be returning here in a hurry.

I am astonished by the positive reviews for this place. This is the first time I've been moved to post a review and it's for the wrong reasons I'm afraid. Where do I start? When I walked in the waiter/manager ignore me and instead attended to the people who walked in immediately behind me. When he finally showed me to our table it sit eight people at a squeeze when we'd booked for 10 plus a child. When he took all the orders he forgot to take mine and I had to go up to the counter to order. My meal then came more half an hour (at least) before the rest of my friends' orders. I had roast lamb which was 75% fat and what wasn't fat was tough. At the end of the meal two people ordered drinks, an English breakfast tea and a mint tea. We waited another half hour before hurrying them up and then they finally came a few minutes later. Probably the worst place I have ever been to overall. Primrose Hill is a nice area but this is an awful place.
