your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne

Great place if you know what you're getting. Very loud house/pop tracks playing, seafood (but there are other options) the atmosphere is always buzzing and fun, there is always a queue everytime I've gone to eat there, but you can crack open a bottle of wine while you wait. The food is good, not fantastic as the other reviews seem to suggest, I had the sea bass -butam a real seafood fan, so might be too critical. Anyway, its always a good time, very camp as well. In the summer they open up the front of the restaurant and that adds to the atmosphere even more. Definitely worth checking out, perfect before hitting the bars/clubs in Soho.

I totally agree. This place rocks - and if you don't get it - you don't get it...

I agree the music is loud so I wouldn't come here for an intimate dinner - but the combination of fantastic food and champagne, beautiful attentive staff and fantastic music works at Randall's.

I have been going to Randall's for years and as yet can't fault the place. It's my favorite spot in the West End. I think the music acts as a barrier between tables and many Hollywood bigwigs have their meeting there - the music creates a sense of privacy for the post production staff who frequent the restaurant.

And if you don't like your music loud then there are thousands of other restaurants in London where you can listen to the usual. Please go there and keep out of our queue- our place.

I think it depends very much on what you want from a restuarant. This one specialises in seafood and fish and that's why most people go there. It also has loud, poppy music which adds to the upbeat and camp atmosphere they are trying to create. I went again last night and ate fantastic lobster, squid and mussels and had a fun time with two drunk friends.

It's a perfect place to go for a substantial snack before hitting the bars or clubs or if you want a rauccous night with a few friends. You always have to queue and you're going to be perched on bar stools with little personal space between you and the other diners. There's a quick turn around for tables. Service is fun and irreverant and the serving staff are absolutely beautiful. If this sounds like what you fancy then try it, but if you're after a quiet, leisurely dinner for two (or ten) or supper with your grandma then best go somewhere else.

All in all this place is unfortunately overrated. My calves liver was beautiful but the barely warm mashed potato it sat on wasn't ! The plates were cold also. With the queue outside building we felt hurried off the table and why do they have to have club music blasting through the sound system so that you can't hear yourself speak. Definitely a restaurant for non-food conniseurs who just want to "be seen" in a trendy soho restaurant.

Three american women (sisters in law) looking for great seafood in London - we trusted our guide books and Zagat - arrived at R&A around 7 and were promptly seated at one of the big marble tables. Service was impeccable. Food was fabulous - highly recommend the sea bass and oysters . SOOOO Fresh! Manager was a delight and the conversation at the table helped make this one of our most memorable nights in London!!! We loved our table mates!!! You cannot leave without tasting the pudding - FABULOUS!!! We did not want to leave - but did with kisses all around! We would so recommend this - the price was "our splurge" - but totally worth it.

I've been here 6 or 7 times for lunch over the last year or so, and this place is top notch. Great buzzy atmosphere, great food, fish is v fresh, waiters all well turned out and attentive. Generally known to Londoners and off the tourist trail, this is one of Soho's best gems.

After reading the rave reviews on here I decided to visit R & A.... the food was good.... enjoyed the mussels, oysters and scallops.... all cooked and presented with attention to detail....

Unfortunately, the 'background' music was blasting out at disco sound levels such that the group on the next table were shouting at each other to be heard.... When I asked if the music could be turned down just a 'little' the waitress shrugged her shoulders as if to say the volume control was fixed and that was that....

I couldn't understand the link between expensive but edible seafood and very loud disco style music....

The service was a bit slow... so no time for dessert as I was off to the theatre.... and two drinks (which we hadn't ordered or consumed) added to the menu didn't help either......

All in all...... not the best seafood restaurant experience.....

Fantastic place! Beautiful food, great staff, fantastic ambiance with good music. Try and get a table looking out onto the street if you love people watching. Lobster and chips for 2 and 2 bottles of wine £70.
