After reading the review I decided to give it a try, and I have to say that this is the worst Italian restaurant I have ever been, period, not just in London. This should be called "American Italian" restaurant. The bread was served with olive oil, which, by the way, was of very poor quality. The pasta was drawned in tomato sauce, and the rivioli tasted like microwaved airplane food. The salad was plain and only drizzled with (again very poor) olive oil. The service was absent minded and slow. Overall, I was shocked that this kind of place exists in London, where there're quite a few decent Italian restaurants and populated with many Italians who know what good Italian food means.

I first went ot Orso over 10 years ago, and have been going back occassionally ever since - in 7 or 8 occassions I have never had anything except an excellent meal. After about a 2 year break my wife and I popped in for dinner on Friday - and were yet again impressed with the service, the excellent wine-list and the fantastic food - my sardine starter was delicious and the crispy pork main was fantastic. It wasn't cheap, but for a lovely atmosphere and such a good all-round experience, worth every penny.
