Rez's Cucina Italiana

Having discovered Zizzi was full my friends and I wandered around looking for pasta and found this restaurant so we gave it a try. The food came quickly and was very good when it did, while the waitress was friendly and we have a great evening. The food was, for the area, good value and most likely I'll stop in next time I stagger in that direction.

I Went to this restaurant before going onto a show on the 21st March have to say it was one of the best meals i have had in a long time steak cooked to perfection. Went in just before a show and had meal delivered in good time, Everything was good, only down point was the service charge, 12.5% a bit high when there is only 2 people being served.

Called in last Thursday, party of 9, at 18.10. Told manager (?) we had to be out by 19.30 to see show- assured no problem.Waiter took 1 drink order & went away. On return ordered other drinks & starters of olivesx2,garlic breadx3,focacinnax2, house redx2 & peronix2.These came fairly quickly & were ok, ordered main meals & reminded waiter of time we had to leave-no problem! At 19.00 no food, saw waiter-2 minutes! This carried on at 5 minute intervals, with us getting increasingly anxious,but getting the same answers.At 19.25 we left.The bill came to over £60 incluiding 12.5% service!!! No apology, no discount - manager's comment was "some you win some you lose"!! Do not go near this place unless you have hours to spend and lots of money to waste.

I don't normally write reviews on restaurants but as I've found this website very helpful in the past I thought I would to save others a disappointment.

Please avoid!

We went for a quick bite to eat before a show, hadn't booked, just found it randomly as we were walking around. It looked nice and was heaving to the brim so didn't think it'd be too bad.

Our food was fairly cold by the time it arrived and it wasn't great. My partner said his spag bol & meatballs had no flavour, my spinach & ricotta ravioli actually tasted like it had been cooked previously, left to go cold and recooked. The garlic bread tasted soapy which was odd!

I didn't think it was particularly over-priced, we don't live in London and have paid more outside of London.

Service wasn't awful, but it wasn't anything special.

If you are looking for a very nice Italian for maybe a special ocassion, please try somewhere else! We weren't happy but we only went for a simple hot meal before our show, we paid for what we got I guess???!!!

POOR, had a Christmas lunch there this week and the food was late and cold. Minestrone soup , should have pasts in ? not this one, it was weak dishwater with a bag of mixed veg tossed in ( but they forgot to de-frost them so the soup was cold ), a steak that had been under a grill for the right length of time but the plate of carrot,mushroom,fries had been sitting on the side while the steak was cooked , so we have a warm steak and cold greasy veg. Desert - christmas pudding and brandy butter - sounds good!, no the individual puds were tough and no sign of the brandy butter just some cream. Coffee and grappa - you guessed it the coffee came eventually and was drunk then 5 minutes later the grappa appeared. We had 3 waiters and maybe a manager ( not sure what he did ) for 20 of us, we were the only people in the restaurant, our complains at the time we met with blank expressions so I feel that this was not a special day inn their lives but business as usual. Great looking web site but crap experience.

Choose this restaurant after reading the reviews on this site. The quality of the food is excellent, the service is attentive but not over-powering. The food was served very promptly. The wine is over-priced, £21 for a bottle of Soave, come on! The ambience can at best be described as rustic, the place could really do with redecorating. Overall though, I'd thoroughly recommend it.

I was in that restaurant,the food was delicious,but what supprised me that service charge was included in our bill without asking and ones of waiters told me that that money are for their boses(3!)not for them,what a dissapointing.Jane

Terrible... The only Italian element of the restaurant was the parmesan cheese! No wonder the Italian couple who were sitting next to us got ****d of and when they saw their main course just walked out:)

Took my girlfriend here for valentines day and we both loved it. The food was wonderfull, and although being very busy the service was quick. The waiters were all very attentative and genuinly friendly. Only quibble is that the table was too small for all the food we ordered!!! lovely restuarant
