Excellent service, cosy atmosphere, good wine and good menu choice. Very accepting of children. Thoroughly enjoyed and would return.

Dined at PJ's on 21st Aug 2010, and must say that both the food & service were superb!

We were rather dubious booking the restaurant, as previous reviews seem mixed, but we have no hesitation recommending PJ's for excellent food, service and value for money.

PJs restaurant provides a very fast and friendly service. I ate at this restaurant prior to my theatre experience and the whole experience was fabulous. Although the theatre menu is fairly limited, this was a positive in my eyes as it encouraged me to choose something from the starter menu that I would not have. Everything from the great food to the helpful staff made it into an evening that I would definately like to experience again. I would love to visit again and taste their main menu.

A little disappointing, as I'd eaten here before and the service was better. They have a set menu £16 for two courses or £20 for 3. Good choice of starters and mains and all arrived roughly at the same moment and enjoyed - though I had to ask for parmesan and pepper with my risotto as none was offered. Serving staff were clueless about recommending a wine, but we found a bottle of bubbly to drink our toast. The staff produced six glasses, then proceeded to fill 5 of them before depositing the empty bottle on the table and walking away. The dessert part of the menu is pretty unimaginative - 3 different sorts of stodge. When I pointed out they could have included perhaps one dessert containing fruit, the waitress said 'I'm sorry we don't have fruit salad' as though I had just requested the best Del Monte in syrup. Of course as a (small) group we then had to pay the 12 1/2% service charge (yes I know you don't actually HAVE to pay it, but it means making a fuss over service that was amateurish rather than off-hand or rude). I'd say this is fine for friends, but don't think you'll impress your boss by bringing him here after work.

We went as a table of eight and most people were pleasantly surprised. I didn't really enjoy the food, although my wife liked hers. Service was reasonable considering how busy they were and the jazz singer was a bonus. All in all though, you can't help wondering that Londoners would find something better and most people there were tourists that stumbled across it. Using Cafe Rouge (two doors down) as the benchmark for a good and reasonably priced meal, this doesn't really come up trumps.

Persuaded my partner to have Sunday lunch here yesterday, as less stressful than her choice, the Wolseley. Bad mistake. My 'medium' hamburger was delivered as 'well done' and was burnt outside and cold in the middle, my partner's was little better and we both left our food. The service was mostly offhand (a blonde server smiled and made do while others mulled round and one simply stood and preened). The sad thing is I've eaten here on and off for years and wanted my partner to see it. She left appalled and upset and I feel I've lost somewhere I liked.

I visited PJ's with some friends but won't be going back. The toilets were out of order so we had to go next door to another restaurant, which was extremely embarrassing. A female member of staff (who i think was senior) was extremely rude to me when I tried to explain that i was not happy about this. This tarnished what was otherwise very good service.

The food was poor. My halloumi with Greek salad consisted of four slivers of halloumi on a bed of stalk-ridden leaves which resembled iceberg rather than cos lettuce, about four olives, ONE cherry tomato sliced in half, chunks of cucumber which were neither peeled nor diced, no peppers, no feta - you get the picture!

Main course of corn-fed chicken was awful and i could not eat it. Far too much pepper and a chunk of tin-foil on the leg. My partner's soup was cold and main course which was allegedly a risotto resembled rice in soup.

Would have forgiven all of the above had the member of staff not been so rude about the toilets. Th rest of the staff were friendly but this one woman really did make me angry. Will not be going back. Ever.

I went to PJ's last night for a xmas dinner for 6 people. The atmosphere was great. The staff were very attentive, warm and welcoming. However, 4 of us had the sea bass and it was a bit cold and very salty. The rest of the food was ok. Not amazing but not bad either. One gripe I had: on the xmas set menu, the 4th course says chocolate truffles. We were given some After Eights on a plate which I found a bit silly really. It looked very cheap and quite tacky. Also, whilst 3 of the party had wine, the other 3 werent offered any drinks when we sat down. Probably wouldn't go back there. But the staff were lovely and service was very efficient.

A friend and I visited Pj's for Sunday lunch/ The waiting staff were very friendly but the roast lunches we ordered came with exceedingly good meat but only one slice of carrot and a piece of broccoli and the roast potatoes were in fact stale potatoes sauted in garlic - inedible. The manager insisted that this was how they serve roast potatoes with their Sunday lunch. Not my first visit but certainly won't be going back.
