We booked this restaurant for my father's 90th birthday celebrations and from start to finish, this was a truly memorable experience. Philip Pell, the manager, was most helpful regarding menu suggestions and the best way to set up the restaurant to accommodate a party of nearly 40 people. The food on the day was sublime, and the service was excellent - the staff could not do enough for us and were very attentive to my father - even serving his icecream with a birthday candle. The restaurant is not cheap but we felt that it was worth every penny for such a special and enjoyable day.

I was taken to this restaurant last week for a celebration. Well- I was astonished. From the time my party arrived to the time we left, the friendly owner and his staff could not do enough for us in spite of the restaurant being full!

We started with Chicken soup with noodles, and that was delicious and filling. This was followed by an apparently new dish, lamb chops in peppercorn salt together with green beans, sweet and sour chicken, special rice, noodles with beanshoots, beef with cashew nuts and vegetable tempura. Delicious and plentiful. You know how some kosher beef is a little tough! Well- not this beef. It was tender and melted in one's mouth.

This was followed by a celebration fruit platter with ice cream: melon, paw paw, mango. kiwi fruit and coffee, choc mint, rum n raisin, strawberry, vanilla ice creams.

A very enjoyable and memorable meal. And to top it all, on departure my host was given a sealed envelope containing a voucher for 20, 50 or 100% off the cost of the next dinner! (He wont know which until the waitress opens it next time)!

Of course my host was too polite to reveal the cost of the evening to me, but he did say that it was great value for a kosher meal of that quality in those surroundings, and he should know because he eats at several restaurants every month!
