I have been 5 times for dinner. Central location and within walking distance from Charing Cross station. Cosy setting. The food has been consistently god. The starters are not good value for money (as usual), but main dishes are authentic and the kebabs are particularly recommendable. Overall, a bit more pricy than the Persian Restaurants around Kensington, but the food was also better.
The staff was attentive and friendly.
I am generally critical about restaurants but would recommend this restaurant if you like Persian cuisine.

I have been in this lovely place with my fiance celebrating our union together. The restaurant provides you everything for a romantic evening, not much light, which is perfect for the atmosphere. I am a meat lover and I have been told that they make wonderfull grills, despite the stews. The location is also a very good point, less than a minute walking from Leicester Sq. underground. They usually ask you if is your first time, and kindly recomend couple of dishes. We had the mixed starters and the mixed grill, (IT IS JUST SUPERB), the marination of the meat makes it very juicy and tender, I was speachless. We had a great time, with everything included, starters, maincourse, deserts and of course the wine. That time was my first time, I can not count how many times I have been there anymore. The staff is smily and they give to you a special attention always.Considering that you are in Covent Garden and thequality of the food the price is very reasonable.I really recomend the place, not to mension the beautiful belly dancer, and guess, she invites you to dance with her after performing beautifuly. I have no complains about the place, I even had my birthday party there, we where about 22 people, everything was on time, and by the way the cocktails are very unique and tasty. If you want to have a really great time with your friends GO TO SIMURGH!!!!

Disappointing service. Food tasted ok but Manager decided that one should not come to a restaurant on a Saturday night and order starters as a main course but rather must order a main meals he has to pay rent for his place...rude that's all I can say about his diatribe.
Not going back and won't recommend!

I took my girlfriend here for her 25th birthday and we had a great time. The atmosphere was great, very simple but yet authentic and Romantic. The service was very good, the food was delicious. The Belly Dancer proved to be an interesting interlude to the night.

I'm about to go to Simurgh for the 6th time tonight and I'm really looking forward to it. I've taken several different friends here now and they've all loved it too. Yes, it's small. Yes, there's a downstairs area and there are tables by the (it has to be said, deplorable toilets). But the food's fantastic, the service is warm and friendly, the atmosphere is cosy and they bring in belly dancers on Fri and Sat evenings. It's one of the few places I know where I can re-live the middle eastern experience of a shisha pipe after dinner. Just a shame about those loos...!

Fantastic place. This is the 5th time I have been in as many years but this time I took my children. We had no reservation but we were given a table anyway. They could not do enough. Service was good and the entertainment left my children speechless. A magical night out for them. I nearly didn't go having read a couple of negative reviews but I'm glad I did!

I found the service and management here delightful-attentive and warm. I really find it hard to believe people have had any problems!
The food was delicious-good, authentic Persian dishes at reasonable prices. Joohjeh delicious, stews very authentic-just like my family makes! Try mixed sini for starters...good to try mixture of tastes. Ice creams divine, Doogh delicious. I loved it!

Persian friends of mine had invited us to this restaurant and had booked for 7 people. At arrival, we found ourselves in a tiny basement area near the toilet. One table for 4 was on one side and one table for 3 on the other. When we complained, the manager started shouting and pointing at us. We decided to leave. But it got worse when the manager grabbed to push us out. It has definitely destroyed our belief of Persians as hospitable and friendly people. If you like to be abused, do not hesitate, go to Simurgh.

I had to only have been to this restaurant once and I knew that I wanted to go back and take different friends so they too could could experience what I had.I have taken friends there again and they were just as delighted and bemused by the strange taste sensation we were experiencing through extraodinary subtlities and fusion of flavours. Superb. My favourite also liked by the whole table is the chicken and banana main dish. Staff that were genuinely friendly and paid personal attention to us every time I have been. They even went out of there way to warn us of a traditional drink that we were about to order that it may not please our western tongued pallate(we were gratedul for the warning). Great enviroment, good sized food, delicious an unusual cocktails. Pricey but it is an indulgence and experience.

12 of us went for supper here for a friend's leaving do. Although the food is lovely and the presentation superb I felt that the waiting staff bullied us a little bit into ordering joint starters and pushing us to drink more (fine by me but the bill reflects that too!). Downstairs looks lovely with the fragrant smell of shisha pipes although next to the toilets and the kitchen which is a bit of a passion killer. A surprising find for Covent garden although a bit pricey for what it is.
