We have eaten at the Nusa Dua many times. The service is always friendly and the good is excellent, my favorite is the snapper with noodles, Yum! The price is excellent and the food is always served quickly making it a great place for a pre-theatre dinner. This restaurant is a gem in Soho, really nice and reasonably priced, I'd recommend it to anyone.

For a cheap multi-cours lunch or meal this place is good (6.95 for lunch, 7.95 after 6pm). But expect very mediocre meals. We tried both the Indonesian and the Thai dishes. The chicken satay was so-so, but worse was the sauce, watery and quite tasteless. The lumpia and fried prawns starters were OK, though small portions. The Thai dishes we tried were certainly not recommendable. The Pad Thai was soft and bland. The chicken dish my friend tried was ok, but mostly salty (at least the taste of the coconut milk reminded me that I was actually eating a Thai dish). Don't want to sound too critical, and if you're up for some generic "Asian" food the price is hard to fault. But for those with a preference for real Thai or Indonesian food, not recommendable

the meal is small size, it is good if you are a small guy or wanting to be slim

the waiters are grumpy

we were rushed to eat up as soon as possible

the toilet stinks

the taste is so so

very expensive if you compare with other indonesians restaurants

this is the place for people who don't know what the real indonesian food is

The first Indonesian restaurant that I've been to in London and I would not hesistate to recommend it to others. Being Indonesian myself, I probably have a higher expectation of the food and I definetely wasn't dissapointed. The 'udang bakar' (BBQ prawns with satay sauce), 'emping' (bean crackers) and 'ikan bakar' (BBQ fish with coconut sauce) were my favourites. The only criticism that I have is for the fact that Nusa Dua doesn't serve any Indonesian desserts.

I have been there several times and the food is always excellent, and the prices are great. The service is always genuine and friendly, just like in the Far East. A perfect place in the heart of London for a good value meal - and it never gets too crowded either. Highly recommended - I go there regularly.

Nusa Dua despite claiming to be an Indonesian restaurant, their menu also consists of Malaysian, Vietnamese, Burmese and Thai dishes.

On our visit there we ordered the Indonesian dishes which included itik bakar, sambal tauco and rendang daging cooked the Indonesian way. They were all tasty and impressive.

I have no qualms in recommending Nusa Dua to my Indonesian friends who are looking for a good meal away from home.

I booked a table for 12 at the Nusa Dua for lunch on 3rd May 06 as one of my colleagues is about to leave the office. Most of us chose from the 2 course lunch menu, while one of our party chose from the main menu. The two staff were very attentive to any of our requests and the service was extremely prompt. They worked hard to ensure that we were well looked after and dashed around the restaurant to ensure other clientele were seated without fuss. Their service and manners were impeccable, which is a hearty commendation – one which should be emulated by other local restaurants more often. In short, their cheerful attitude and smiling faces improved the spirits of the 12 grumpy old men sitting around the table.

This is the forth time that I’ve had a meal at the Nusa Dua, in the heart of Soho, but the others have been in the evening. I have to say that lunch here is as good as the evening meals. The first course was a clear soup which was piping hot, spicy and tasted delicious. This was quickly followed by a starter. I ate the Sate – two skewers of tasty marinated chicken with a lovely peanut sauce that complimented it so well. I’ve eaten Indonesian food all over the place, so can say that the Sate served at the Nusa Dua is probably the best I’ve had anywhere. The house wine at £10:50 was a nice red Merlot that was fine for the dozen of us.

For the main course we chose a diverse range from their menu, which has six starters and 14 main courses. I ate the Ayam Panggang which is another chicken dish, but tasted so different from the Sate. This was served with delicious basmati rice and small salad. It was scrumptious! Following the meal, we finished with coffee or jasmine tea and a chocolate mint. When you consider that at a cost of £6.95 (excluding wine) the lunch menu must be the greatest value in Soho. For 12 of us the bill came to about £152, or less than £13 each and that included the wine – a bargain!

Occasionally when you have a lunch in some restaurants, the portions can be a little frugal, however all of my colleagues commented how much they had enjoyed their meals and how satisfied they were with the portions, which were ample.

If you want an excellent and tasty inexpensive meal, when you are on Oxford Street or anywhere within Soho, do pop into the Nusa Dua.

Having reserved a table, we went to Nusa Dua on Friday 9th December. When we arrived we ushered downstairs and told that a table was being prepared for us upstairs, although I would have been quite happy to sit downstairs.

Anyway, we then went back upstairs and having ordered a bottle of wine, we were then asked if we wouldn't mind moving downstairs as someone had rung up and requested that they sit upstairs! So we refused as we had, after all booked and we had already done the 'up and down' thing once.

The food was ok but nothing special really and the roti canai was orange and tasted of coconut, instead of the normal brown tasty curry sauce you would expect. There are

other places in London where you can get better Indonesian food. I wouldn't particularly recommend Nusa Dua I'm afraid.

I have been to Nusa Dua many times and have never been dissapointed! It is my favourite restaurant in Soho, ideal for theatre goers. The restuarant has a nice atmosphere with an upstairs and downstairs area. Book early if you want to sit upstairs, it does get busy from about 7:30pm.

Being a vegetarian the menu has a lot of choice! I absolutely ADORE the mock chicken skewer satay starter, I could probably have that on it's own. And I spend days afterwards wishing I had more. The texture is similar to very tender steak - maybe not to all vegetarians' liking. I really love the gado gado, very nicely presented. They also do set menus and even have "Vegetarian Monk Feast" which is more than enough for two people.

Overall - friendly staff, very cheap, excellent food and very good location. I will be back many more times.

I was here last Saturday again before going off to the Soho Theatre. My friends and I went for the £6.95 meal deal which gave you a choice of starter and main, also included are soup and a tea or coffee afterwards. The fish cakes were on the rubbery side and the salad that came with my main was lack lustre, but saying that the snapper was excellent and the other mains good, all came with a generous potion of noodles. The wine was very nice and reasonably priced and the selection of fruit juices wide and well priced. The staff were polite and all in all a good experience, especially for the money.
