Thai Pavilion (Soho)

We went to this place for lunch, stumbling upon it by chance. The restaurant was very small and dingy, we stayed on the ground floor so didnt get a look at up or downstairs. It didnt inspire memories of thailand (my second home) It was however, tidy, clean and niceley lit by candles. We ordered stuff to share; satays, mixed starter (think it was called (suprise) masseman curry, veg fried rice & pad thai. The food was all presented niceley and the accompniments very authentic, the satays were cold and the peanut sauce lacking the kick it so deserves! The masseman curry however, was fantastic, truly authentic and very tasty indeed. The pad thai was good, and more than enough prawns, The veg fried rice was very nice. The ambiance was busy and buzzing for a wet weds afternoon and all in all, I would return as we had a lovely meal

First impressions were ghastly - the place was dingy and bit dirty. The staff were painfully slow taking 30 minutes to bring a menu and deliver a bottle of wine. Two couples next to us got up and walked out as they were being totally ignored. The food when it finally came was authentic as expected. The starters were delicious but presentation of the dishes was poor and although we requested extra sauces they had not come by the time we had finished eating.
I wont be going back, I recommend you only go there if you have a lot of time and patience - the good food is ruined by poor surroundings, and even poorer service.

We have been there a couple of times. Food is excellent, the curries are mouthwatering. Service is excellent, staff are pleasant. Portions are small and pricy. Overall we love the food and atmosphere especially sitting down and listening to thai music.

Absolutely godly!!! Although a bit expensive, I always come here to get authentic thai food. I always go for a salad and soup and I'm never disappointed. The food is hot as I prefer it and the choice is large.
The atmosphere is cosy, although I would avoid the tables downstairs in case the fountain is on. The water running gives a peculiar effect as it is REALLY noisy...
I can't wait to go back!
