We dined on a Thursday night.

Good

Service was quick

Atmosphere fine

Bad:

The coconut soups weren't fantastic.

Spicy Lamb main dish had a very bad taste

Extras just added to the bill (reading a previous review seems to be a pattern here)

Persistent requests to add tip to payment by Visa card

Check your bill with these guys!!

Not that impressed. Went for lunch, the prawn crackers and noodles were oily. Staff were not very friendly and practically didn't get noticed as we were seated in acorner. Portions were small. After 4 hours, I still have a dry palate, probably from the oil and/or msg.

The food here was delicious and very reasonably priced!

Although we were served by several staff the service was efficient.

However there were several added extras when our bill came, although when we mentioned this the staff were very apolegtic and sorted it immediatly. It was also slightly strange that when paying by card we were asked if we would like to leave a tip and how much so that she could put it on the machine, however I have used the same machine several times before and it is just as easy to follow the instructions and leave the tip yourself which would be more polite.

The food was very good and more thasn made up for anything else, I would definatly go back!!

Very good food but the attitude of the staff was pretty poor.

Requests for additional items were ignored/forgotten and I had to ask several times until they eventually arrived. Staff didn't really seem to want to be there and it was reflected in their conduct. Shame as if there had been better service I would return.

Spot on food, people who complain about this place really have no idea what they are chatting about.

Service is great, food is the best of its genre in the West End by a long chalk. I have been visiting Thai Pot for a number of years and each time it gets better. You will be hard pushed to find a resturant that offers this value.

Oh and get the sticky rice, its the just fantastic.

Very, very disappointing. Although the food was nice, the overall service was abysmal. We hadn't even sat down at a table before being asked to hurry up choosing our order. We were actually 20 minutes early for our table as we booked, so thought this very unacceptable. After being rushed to eat we then were asked if we would like to add the tip to our credit card payment. What kind of place asks for a tip. This restaurant is to be bypassed at all costs until they get some professional staff to serve customers.

i love asian food and was excited to have a birthday party at thai pot.

firstly, the service was very appreciative of the 22 people making lots of noise and engaged in a very friendly manner helping us decide the best dishes to have. i think they knew the best of what we needed. we were in a rush, wanted lots of tasty food, and an even numbered bill to split. :) they catered an array of starters enough for all of us which was mostly fried but a real treat, then came with set menu plates of steak, amazing curries, vegetables, rice and plenty more to taste making me want to fly to thailand for more! the food really was a good amount to satisfy with a drool making aroma and taste. atmosphere was pleasant with seductive lighting and cute efficient staff!

thai square was absolutely amazing

i tried thai food before but nothing compares to here!

our food was fresh and hot we ordered the mixed starter, delicious, the service was quick and cheerful and when our main course arrived there was an array of flavours on each plate we were so full from the curry, grilled prawns, and pad thai noodles we had to get a taxi... thanks so much i'm coming back!

I have learnt that in the west end there are two kind of restaurants:

- the ones benefiting from the tourist and west end crowds which provide an 'atmosphere' to convince you that they will also deliver in the plate as well as they deliver in making you believe you are in a special place because it all looks good around you, the paintings on the walls, the leather chairs and the linen

- and the ones doing a good job at providing honest quality food up and foremost, letting the decor lower on their priority list.

Thai pot sadly is from the earlier sort. There are too many staff, we were served by three different waiters, the owners are quite smarmy in their approach and it is obvious that they are running a tight production line for quick turnaround of people in and out. That could be fair enough if the food was up to standards of what many people nowadays expect from a thai restaurant: fresh, simple but tasty thai food. Here it was greasy, very oily food with no taste or care that made you feel bloated and left you very unsatisfied.

Not to be recommended.
