Thai Pot

We went to Thai Pot because the restaurant looked busy in a positive sense. We ordered starters (dim sum and little fried fish burgers) and main dishes (grilled salmon and fried duck) with beer and vine for ca 60 GBP.
The starters were served within a minute and were reasonably good and enjoyable. The main dishes were both a disappointment. The duck and the salmon were both rather dry - in particular the salmon was far too dry - and as the taste was beginners' level.
Unless you intend to order a bottle of wine, the wine list offered only one type of white wine and one type of red wine. The red wine (french, from pays d'oc) was not what I would choose to sell in a restaurant.
The service was very attentive and nice, but almost stressful. We asked them three times to give us more time, when choosing our dishes. I had hardly finished eating, when our plates disappeared already.
To sum up: we felt that the food was not value for money.

I've visited this restaurant twice in the last month. I rarely visit restaurants without reading reviews first but went on a whim and am so glad I did! The service here is quick and responsive, the food stunning (more on that later!) and prices very reasonable for the cuisine and the location - just around the corner from Trafalgar Square. So far (and I say this as we WILL be back to continue working through the menu) my partner and I have enjoyed the tender and flavoursome 'weeping tiger' dish, spicy and delicious chicken panang, chili & lemongrass chicken, beef in oyster sauce, spare ribs which fell off the bone and a number of other sides and have been very happy with every single dish we've eaten. We've missed great Thai food desperately since a trip earlier in the year but think we have finally found our new favourite restaurant. Give it a go - you will not be disappointed.

I have lived in Thailand for more than 40 years. I have eaten at Thai restaurants all over the world. This may not have have the fanciest decor or the most unique names for items but the food is dam good, and the service is excellent. The only place I know better is my home in Bangkok with my Thai housekeeper......
If I want really good Thai food..Thai Pot

This place is something else!
The food is the best Thai food I have had - worth the money - i am not saying that it is particularly expensive.
The ambience is unique and decent.

I went with a friend hoping for a nice meal. I'm vegan & don't usually have a problem eating at thai restaurants as normally very good veggie selection. this one seemed also to have a good vegetarian selection but when i went to order and asked them to leave out fish sauce they said that all the vegetarian dishes had to have it in and there was only 1 or 2 i could choose from. there menu is very misleading which they know and admitted to but clearly haven't done anything about. they eventually did me a pad thai without fish sauce but you can bet I won't be won't be going there again - I would certainly suggest vegetarians give it a miss.

Food and service were excellent .
Sharing starter platter followed by "Weeping Tiger" sirloin steak and beef in oyster sauce all superb. Service prompt and efficient by very friendly staff. But no draught beer which is a shame and the drinks could be better all round.
A good meal that could have been great if the drinks had matched the food.
Would return though !.

Went with 6 people and we weren't impressed. The service was good, & staff nice and friendly, only one big problem, the food!
Mussaman curry was watery and tasteless, big hard chunks of boiled potato thrown in! Pad Thai wasn't like any other Pad Thai i've ever eaten, should be crispy noodles and full of flavour, but was bean shoots no noodles!? also watery & minus the flavour. Shame, the place is nice but the food let's it down badly.

Good service but bad food. Massaman curry was tasteless and watery. Pad Thai was dry and not particularly flavourful. Broccoli was nice but portion too small. Wouldn't visit again - there are far better Thai restaurants in London.

Visted here at 10.30pm post theatre as it was convenient but the place was nearly empty on a Wednesday night. Looks like other readers comments about 'watery' curry is true and they are stretching the base with a large addition of water to both the Thai green and red duck curry that I tried. After I complained she offered 10% off, then removed it from the bill entirely. Perhaps they assume that everyone through their door is a tourist but it doesn't deserve any business with the price/quality ratio.

It is a place I used to visit with my boyfriend fairly often. Last night we went again after a while and were very excited about having a great dinner. However it was very disappointing. We ordered jungle beef curry, some stir fry and portion of fish cakes. Both dishes were absolutely tasteless. The curry in particular was really watery and I was struggling to get any flavor out of it. Service was quite friendly but food was of a very poor quality. Bill of £35 isn't bad at all but seems bit too high if you leaving the restaurant absolutely unsatisfied. What a shame! We used to love this place!
