This is one of the best Yo! Sushi's (compared with Trocadero and Westminster) although it differs slightly in that you don't have the ginger and wasabi in front of you and you can't get the waiter's attention bu pushing that red button. I found the waiter friendly and helpful but disliked the manageress who was a real loudmouth and kept interrupting when I was being served. The chefs also talk to you if they have the time and you're on your own, which is a nice touch. The food is so so, nothing compared to kulu kulu down the road but not ridiculously overpriced as with NOBU. Overall, a nice but not special eatery.

If you're a fan of yosushi and for a quick fix of reasonable sushi, this place is fine. In fact, it is a plusher version of typical yosushi venues, so not bad value for money for sushi in soho.

Service is always really quite good in our experience, but that may be due to the fact that we usually pop in for late lunch/early dinner as opposed to peak times.

Of course there are more authentic places nearby, but I think this place has a much nicer ambiance than other kaiten sushi restaurants in the area.

Sorry to add another uncomplementary review but the sushi at yo sushi is not all that! The service was slow (it took 30 minutes for a hot dish to come). I was in a hurry and asked the waiter around three times if my dish was on its way as I could see that there seemed to be some general confusion in the kitchen. Well I asked the waiter if I could have the bill as the dish obviously wasn't going to turn up. He obliged when another waiter pounced on him and said the meal was cooked whereupon the chef hurridedly whacked it on a plate and handed it over. I had ordered a chicken dish apparently cooked with sweet basil and chilli. It was a piece of fried chicken and that's all I can say about it - it obviously hadn't been near foresaid ingredients. With no time to spare I shoved it down, ran to pay at the desk and escaped. It should be called 'Slow sushi'.

Have to say that the other reviews here are quite harsh! We went on a saturday night and had a lovely meal at a very reasonable price and we'd happily go back again. Perhaps the "connoisseurs" out there find things to gripe about but for the normal person this place is fine.

I went on a Friday night. As others have noted, service was infrequently offered and slow.

This mechanicially-produced sushi has translucent-thin fish on very small blocks of rice for nigiri and none of it was at all inspiring. The age of the fish itself might be questionable, as the tuna was of poor color. The rolls were either microscopic or huge futomaki-type nonsense.

The mochi I had for dessert was filled with red bean paste instead of the customary ice cream.

I also must agree that the hidden charge for water was wholly unacceptable. In Tokyo, the taps serve water and green tea free of charge, so why would I expect a hip-looking London sushi bar to charge?

On the plus side, unlike every other sushi place I've tried in London, they do serve one brand of cold sake so I'm not stuck drinking piss-warm cheap junmai.

I've been to about five different Yo! Sushi restaurants in London and this by far has the worst service. Unlike the other restaurants there is no ginger, wasabi, chopsticks or napkins...and having to ask for these is just a pain. Asking for a drink or food is hard enough here. The staff just don't seem to realize that they are working in a restaurant and are not there to socialize with one another. Also the stools are too high for the counter and it's difficult to eat your food. They don't have as much going around the conveyor belet but that might be a good thing. Overall, I felt uncomfortable here and won't be going back.

Went a couple of months ago on a Saturday night and had a fun, tasty experience with plenty of variety. What a disappointment on an early weekday evening last week! Next to no sashimi on the belt, and what there was had clearly been around some time. Staff bickering amongst themselves. Orders taking ages to arrive. A tofu dish was served in two huge chunks which had to be practically wrestled to the ground before they could be eaten. Will probably go again, but will try to pick a time when they expect to be busy. Lots of empty seats though, even on a Saturday night, which can't be good for a Soho venue - probably this is a craze on its last legs.
