Yo! Sushi (Soho)
your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne
we viewed the reviews on line, and went for this one of two recommend in Soho, The reviews where not encouraging, but we decide to try one, as we wanted Sushi, so we are surpised to have such a lovely experience
The whole experience was good, the staff are friendly and polite, and couldn't do enough for you.
The selection of dishes could have been abit more varied, but i did go for an early lunch and the place lends itself to dishes being picked and then replace, i would recommend going when its a little busier.
A very inexpensive meal in the middle of London, depends how many dishes you choose
The atmosphere was pleasant and the decor was clean and tidy,
My daughter is 14 and loved the experience and so did i, we are already planning our next visit.

Yo sushi for sushi is like macdonalds for burgers. Just dont do it. Bland and tasteless with hard rice and a rubbish selection of fish. Anywhere is better than these places.
I have had friends say that they dont like sushi - mainly because they tried tescos or yo's sushi and thought it was bland. this stuff actually puts people off sushi!

I've been to 2 Yo's, Brent X and Gatwick. Both served the some of the blandest restaurant sushi I've had in the UK, and although some dishes were OK, the price with drinks for me and my 10 year old came to nearly £45 - a disgusting rip off. Staff are nice, but the variety of dishes on the belt is feeble given the staff numbers. I've found it easy to give these places a wide berth. Woodruffe should have a word....

Took the children (10 and 8 years) here for lunch with a friend. We all had a great time. We sat on the stools and kids were able to help themselves to what tempted them. we could see the dishes being prepared. It was a fun experience and one that we will repeat. Staff were helpful and friendly.

I decided to try Yo Sushi because of a promotional offer in Student Beans, which gives you a 50% discount during 3-6 pm, mondays to fridays. I took my cousin there for the first time, for a quick bite. It was very quiet, when we came at 3.30 pm. We had some sushi that tasted dry and tough. The meat was tough and rubbery. As soon as you picked up the sushi, the whole stuffing came out. The did not wrap it very tight. The miso soup was very salty and you couldnt drink much. The green beans, were tough like old boots, absolutely awful!!!!!!! The service was fine, efficient and fast probably because there was hardly anyone in there. I was disapointed, and wished I had dim sum at Chinatown. Even though we got 50% discount, I would have rather paid full price at Wong Kei. The pickled ginger and soy sauce was good though.

This is my favourite Yo! restaurant. Disappointing to read some negative comments, but then again I have never really been in a rush when I have visited, nor expected anything special.
Can't fault this Yo! at all - the selection here is always really varied - moreso than many other Yo! restaurants I have visited. Hot dishes are always served promptly too. Will be visiting many times in future - I hope!!

Have been to Yo Sushi at the following areas
Soho
Harvey Nicholls
Brent X
They are dearer than ITSU (sites visited Piccadilly,Wardour St, & Bishopsgate) When Yo Sushi was first opened their portions of fish on the sushi were good now they have reduced the slices of fish and what lies on top of the rice & its a thin "slither" BUT they charge more than ITSU WHY.?.They have become greedy and have opened too many restuaurants...
For newcomers to Sushi they are not aware of the "Swizz"
I WILL AVOID YO SUSHI FOR THE REASONS ABOVE

I go to this Yo! at least twice a week. I find the staff attentive and helpful, a wide variety of dishes (considering it is a chain), and the food out of the kitchen well prepared and quick to table. Sit in the back booths for the best service and a more relaxing experience - I find the stools impossible to balance on!
