YO! Sushi (Soho)

I must say that I used to enjoy some Yo! Sushi from time to time in the beginning of the 21st century. The restaurants are normally quite funky, but the food is definitely not that fresh and not that authentic either. Not to mention the portions keep getting smaller, and you need to spend a fortune to have any chance of filling up. On my last visit I could only compare it to the McDonalds/Burger King version of a sushi place...
From now on I will keep my sushi urges in check until I get to New York. In manhattan visit East 59th street (between 2nd and 3rd avenues) and find many great Japanese delis that do better food than this...

We have been there this winter, as we were struggling to pieces for some Japanese food. We like the way Yo! Sushi mixes the fast food style together with the ambience of a restaurant, so that to create a funny environment that stimulates customers to enjoy different dishes, being attracted from their colours and they presentation on the trolley, as well as giving them a good privacy to enjoy their conversations and to spend there as much time as they like.
The philosophy of this kind of places is not thinking about what to eat and how long to stay.
Despite the not very great atmosphere of this small restaurant, the service was impressive, and we particularly remember the kindness of the chief, that showed us a couple of new promotions.
Food is not bad, but very fresh. We die for chocolate mochi!
Finally, the value for the money is awesome, especially if you consider that the fish is really fresh and of good quality.

I've been to many sushi restaurants over the world and this place is seriously poor and greedy, it's price over quality, sushi is long prepared, not fresh, the maki pieces are very small and not fresh at all... Cheap soya, old wasabi which is on the table in a pot and unfortunately not served when you sit on the table.
Poor menu with almost no choice.
I haven't been to any place but this in London yet but I hardly got full after spending 22 pounds. Hope someone can recommend a place which is value for money.
People who say this place has good food probably don't know the quality of freshly prepared well made sushi.

i went there with the discount voucher, i felt ripped off even with all the discounts. the sushi is very poor quality, it was awfully small, and old. the fish on the nigiri sushi is thin and not fresh. i dont know how they can be called a innovative sushi bar, when they cant do it right, after opening for nearly 10 years in soho, all the steam of attraction of conveyor belt sushi train has run out and look outdated. if you go there for geniune japanese food, you can just dream about, the food is nothing new and mile away to be called japanese food (fresh and high quality) at the end of the day that what you paid for high chair, robo, interior and novelty and the rent to be seen in Heathrow, Harvey Nics. i would never go again even if its free, instead go for any little sushi bar down the road in Brewer street soho, you guaranteed have a better meal then at this poor resturant only looks good in the magazine and sad to dine in.

Yo! Sushi is the worst place to eat! It is a disgrace to japanese food and to food in general. Disgusted and feel cheated with money I paid. I would not eat there even if it was for free.

Seen this place all over London and finally decided to pop in and give it a chance and BOY it was bad.
Above all, the rice is just disgraceful to Japanese food, saggy and collapse on the plate, the fish is too watery and the close seating plan made me worrying that my neighbour's saliva may spill into my dish.
No doubt, its THE worst sushi I've had in London, even Pret-A-Manger and Wagamama had much better sushi. Many people think sushi is all about fish but in fact you can tell more easily from the rice
No way I'm going back. Did I mention, for such poor quality its definitely over-priced.
