Every one of the reviews on this page are, in my direct personal experience, correct. This externally unassuming little restaurant is most certainly a ‘destination’ restaurant by which I mean very well worth travelling to from anywhere in London. Unhesitatingly recommended based on 9 visits so far.

We've just returned from yet another delightful meal at Adam's Cafe. It never fails to amaze us how the food has remained so delicious and interesting and the prices so reasonable. The welcome is consistently warm, and the decor (recently revamped) is very welcoming. Highly recommended.

One of my favourite restaurants in London, I've dragged friends right across the city to taste the couscous, tagines and grills and no one's ever disappointed. It's also been recently redecorated and is brighter and friendlier than ever. There's a very interesting selection of Tunisian wines and the service and food are always fantastic, highly recommended.

This gem of a restaurant already has a deservedly excellent reputation, and although out of central London is well worth the moderate effort to get there, especially as it's within easy reach of a number of tube stations. Cafe by day and Tunisian/Moroccan restaurant by night, it's family run, with notable warmth and attention to detail - even the mint tea is the best I've ever had. The menu is not over-extensive so all the dishes - meat and fish grills, couscous dishes, tagines and stews - feel like specialities, and the prices are very reasonable, with menus 'rapide', 'gourmet', and 'gastronomique' to simplify the bill. They're licensed but are happy to allow people by bring their own (wine only), for modest corkage. The best and most conspicuous compliment any diner can pay is repeat custom, and it's striking how many of those entering the restaurant are on first-name terms with the owners. Of its kind, it doesn't get better than this.

As my wife and I left Adam's Cafe, we left with regrets. Regrets that we discovered this tantalising family-owned restaurant two years ago and have only been back twice. Why? Perhaps it is because we live in Kew and it requires just a bit more effort. What a pity, and what a loss. It is rare that you go to a restaurant and emerge without being able when asked to pick out a weakness or a yes, but.
There is none, unless you count some peeling wallpaper. Who cares? The food was delectable. Amuse-gueules which come without prompting: pickled vegetables (carrots, cabbage, olives), lamb meatballs with harissa, freshly made brown bread. Then starters-doigts de fatima- filo fingers stuffed with chopped meat and accompanied by a ratatouille , and merguez sausages. Piping hot, but piping hot.
Then two tagines: chicken with preserved lemons, olives and potatoes, and my wife's lamb gargoulette. Did I say piping hot? Then bakhlava and fresh mint tea.
Impeccable take no prisoners, wipe the plate clean stuff. An inexpensive rosé (in spite of it being winter) also goes down without any resistance whatsoever.
Full marks for the food. And the couple who have owned this neighbourhood restaurant for 20 years are equally classy. The owner is Tunisian (unfortunately I do not know his name) and his wife Frances is British, but a francophone. It is called Adam's Cafe after their oldest son, and both he and his brother are now at Oxford.
Not just a restaurant. An inspiration to quality and dedication to perfection which obviously has stood the test of time and will not make a dent in your wallet (£56 for the two of us inlcuding wine, but you could bring your own for a £3 corkage). Don't make our mistake. Go there soon, and often.

I love this gem on the Askew road, W12.
It does great breakfasts including 'the full English' and all its many variants.
In the evening the delicious north African flavours fill the restaurant. Delicious tagines and Tunisian delicacies.
It is BYO too. Great off-licence across the road.
Hmmmm. Adam's Cafe is very tasty indeed
