For those who bemoan the number of chain bars with no character. This place has character and characters in abundance! Best time to go is early on Friday evening when some of the patrons have had a head start on you and just listen to the banter between them and the waitresses. Steak and frites with their excellent range of reasonably priced red wines will keep you coming back for more. Be careful though -you may not want to go anywhere else after an evening here.

This place is a real secret jewel. It looks like an underground cavern but don't be fooled! There is a Cheers-like atmosphere, they even have their own version of Norm! Except he drinks a French wine not beer. The steak frites is excellent. The manager is really friendly often chatting to some of the regulars. The wine selection is excelent, they have this great little French wine, Fleurie which is excellent value for money. I thoroughly recommend!
