I totally agree with the other review. I have dined at this pretty restaurant about 4 times and was so impressed with the tasty fresh clean food that i have recommended it to several friends.
I will be taking my best friend for dinner this Friday because its her birthday treat and we are offically regulars!!!
The Aubergine starter divine with the fresh HUGE bread that is made in front of you in the authentic Tandoor!!!!
Rice is butterery and lamb juicey and fresh.
Value for money.Defo.
Small but pretty. Cosy and nice busy atomosphere......

This is the second time I have been to this restaurant now and even though I thought the service to be somewhat lacking the first time, the second time it was plain bad. It shouldn't be something of a hardship to welcome your customers in and smile. We were left waiting to order our food as the only waiting staff were eating themselves, get your priorities in check. Food is nice however but it is a fact that I will not go back based on the service received and being left feeling uncomfortable by their surly attitude. Had to laugh when the service charge was added on, but being British we paid up and said nothing so our own fault really!

This i without any doubts one of the BEST persian restaurants in the entire world. I know this because I am persian myself and i have a restaurant. The food taste even better than food served in the homeland Iran. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is enjoyable and the price range is without any dounts a barging.
I am quite amused by the other comments, I have my friends coming from all around the world and the only restaurant they have in mind to go to is "Alounak". Take my advice and do not waist your time for searching for good quality food. Alounak has it all.

Ate here last Sat, the food definitely is of some standard. It is actually quite good, tasty and fresh. Quality of food is high and prices are incredibly reasonable. The problem is the waitresses (in particular one particular waitress) who was particularly rude, we havent finished our food and she started taking the plates away....unbelievable. She should be sacked!

Very good food in a not "over-the-top" decorated Persian Restaurant like Behest on Harrow Road. Best Koobideh I've had, beats Behest on Harrow Road by miles. Service is attentive and efficient. I would recommend having the Salad Olivieh and the Chelo Kobaab Koobideh. Didn't make a whole in the pocket!

I work nearby and absolutely love it, having tried just about every other restaurant in the neighbourhood. I can particularly recommend the Wednesday special - lamb and aubergine - with the Taftoon bread. The lamb is so beautifully cooked, always nice cuts of meat used, and the large portions mean there's enough for a doggy bag too. As a former vegetarian with some meat-squeamishness about what might lurk in meat stews, this is a place I trust. The standard veggie dish is also flavoursome. I'm not sure whether the bad reviews about the food itself on this site were expecting strongly seasoned food and were therefore disappointed, but it's the subtlety of the dishes here which is what I like. It's always packed in the evenings - the only restaurant along this end of Westbourne Grove outside which queues form - says a great deal about the quality of what's on offer. Yes, sometimes the wait is quite long, and the staff may not be hugely attentive, but those aren't what I take away from eating here. I love it!
