The worst persian restaurant. Was there 10/03/13

Small portions, vegetables old

We asked 3 times for drinks and it came when we had finished our food

They had the AC on in the middle of winter, while it was snowing outside, my food got cold and I got the worst headache because of the AC and for all of that they REQUIRE you to pay service charge, it is not optional. We will never go there again.

I used to go Alounak regularly but I was there for a lunch today Sunday 23rd Dec 2012 and thier service was very bad for the following reasons:

1-Starters and main course came together in spite of our demand to have a time to enjoy starter before having our main course.

2- Food wasnt good at all

3- Airconditioner was on in middle of our lunch and we had to wear our jackets and scarf to be able to finish our food

I do not recomend Alounak to anyone any more.

Don't go there. The restaurant has changed a lot and the service has gone downhill.

They don't care about the customer or know what customer service is. They just look to make money. The service staff are extremely rude and treat customers like they are not welcome.

There are much better restaurants around Queensway, like - Sadaf or Little Persia...who treat the customers very well.

My partner and I waited in queue for half hour, when a table came free, we were asked if we want to share the table, as it was a table for four. We said we prefer not to share. Then they gave the table to single customer after us and waited 20 minutes until the next person wanted to share with that customer. Basically, we stood there one hour in the queue, because they were happier to serve three customers at the table, than two who were already waiting (us).

Upon questioning, the waitress very rudely replied that this is a table sharing restaurant. The manager was even more rude. When I asked them how much longer do we have to wait, the waitress shrugged her shoulder and walked off.

I have never been treated so badly at a restaurant...! They have lost a very loyal customer today. I will never go in that restaurant again ....ever.

Ordered a take out - got home to find burnt tasteless food. Called to complain and, the lady on the phone explained "that's how it comes" - Unbelievable. Used to be a good restaurant but now they just rely on their name. Disgraceful.

Fantastic food! basic style restaurant but the busy atmosphere makes up for that! The food is just out of this world and I can not wait to go back, the dips and flat bread are the best part and when I go again I will just order those! Good value, good service.

I no longer live in London but when I visit I HAVE to go to Alounak. I try to go at lunch or off peak as it's small, very popular and doesn't take reservations.

But the food is heavenly, their made to order flatbread is wonderful as are all their dips. I usually go for the chicken kebab as it's so tender and beautifully flavoured - I don't know how they do it! I'm not a big lamb fan but numerous friends have told me it's the best in London.

Tea is great too.

They don't sell alcohol but I think you can BYO if you like

We eat here regularly and would recommend it highly. Food is of a high standard, meat in the kebabs of a good quality, the service is good. Also, reasonably priced and a nice environment, can be hard to get a seat , but definitely worth the wait. The teas here are really refreshing.
