Corney & Barrow at Fleet Place

I pop in there quite a lot as I work locally. They have a nice patio area outside with huge heated umbrellas that is perfect for the winter and smokers. Staff were very friendly and seemed to know a lot about the extensive winelist, which made for a pleasant surprise. Food is delicious, especially the regular barbecques on the terrace.

Just had lunch there. The jug of Pimms was lemonade with a bit of colour thrown in, the miniscule menu only offered 4 sandwiches and a caesar salad, the sandwiches came complete with stale bread and dry tasteless filling, the staff were just plain rude.

Even the pigeons couldn't eat the bread...and boy did they try! £52 for 4 sandwiches and 2 watery jugs of Pimms. What a horrible lunch. I won't go back.

The first time I visited C&B at Fleet Place was for a barbeque organised by my work. I was pleasantly surprised; the food was delicious, the staff very attentive and the location, tucked away from the hustle and bustle, just perfect. I have since returned many a time, including for Birthday drinks after work and I find it pleases me each time. A perfect sun trap too for the summer months. In fact , definitely a summer venue rather than a winter one.
