Wonderful venue, great Malbec and even better steaks. Staff were attentive and should get passion for Gaucho & Argentina, I've already booked to go back next week.
Faultless.

I was in from New York and someone recommended this place for good steaks. I'm certain the person that recommended this place had never eaten in a real steak house. The meat they present to you is much bigger than what they serve you and the cuts of meat are not premium at all.
The appetizers were terrible, the beer and wine way over priced, and to top it all over the waitress was very rude.
Go somewhere else, and enjoy a real steak, good service and a much better experience.

Absolutely perfect! Can strongly recommend to everyone who is a steak-lover. Good location, nice staff and delicious food! We had a booking for 8 o'clock and were 30 minutes late, but was absolutely not a problem, we'd got a nice table next to window. Our waitress Tamara was nice, fast and recommended the perfect desserts with wine. Had a really great time. Prices are very high but worth it!

ABSOLUTE RIP OFF!! Went yesterday for lunch with a group of 8, was made to eat a set menu priced at £55 per head without drinks!!! The starters all came up at different times, were cold (Literally, so not sure why they could not serve together!), and was utter rubbish, bland nothingness!
The waiter tried to make us all eat our steaks "medium", obviously the Chef (looked like he ws straight out of "Little chef" or Mc Donalds) did not want to cook 8 steaks differently. This is a chain restaurant trying to be a fine dining establishment. Utter rubbish and a total rip off. To top it all they are charging £30+ minimum for Argentinean wine! Save your money, if you want decent high quality food and really good wine, go to Roka! Avoid "Gaucho" at all cost! Our bill was over £800 in the end for an hour and half of guff!

A real shocker! I booked Gaucho with my girlfirend as a last minute treat. We love Gaucho restaurants, and Canary Wharf is closest to me - but we will never visit again!
First, we had a booking for 8.45pm but we weren't seated until 9.45pm. The maître d’ came to us at the bar and asked what my name was three times during the hour we were waiting, and was wrong three times - I got the sense their organisational skills were not the best! Second, we were given seats right by the door, which was open on a blustery British evening. This left us cold while having dinner and they also seemed to sit people outside (including the smokers) closer to the door for their convenience. Steak and cigarette smoke…hmmmmm! Third, they seemed to have three suited manager-types who were just standing around and nodding now and again, and paid no attention to the debacle unfolding during the evening (other diners were having similar experiences to us). Fourth, my girlfriend got the toughest steak she’s ever had. Gaucho’s seem to pride themselves on steaks so succulent that you don’t need a steak knife. A tip – give your diners a steak knife when the steak is as tough as old boots! Finally, a £104 bill for two main courses, a glass of wine each and a dessert to share. Nice if everything is good, but galling when it is not.
Go to Gaucho’s, but no to this one!

I went to Gaucho last friday as it was close to my partner's office. We were joined by his mom and sister, who were visiting that day. I had no problem getting a table at my selected time and when we arrived we were swiftly sat in the top floor. Our waitress seemed competent and confident and took us dutifully through the different meats and cuts available. I don't eat meat (although everyone else in the table did) so I chose a couple of dishes, one to be brought as a starter and one as a main. She brought them both to the table alongside another starters before the rest got their mains and when I mentioned this to her she started to raise her voice over mine to maintain that I had asked for both to come together. I told her quietly that it was not the case as I remembered clearly stating that one was to be served as the main and when everyone in the table agreed she rolled her eyes and took my main back to the kitchen while I was still talking! I utterly unnecessary and blatantly rude. My food, tuna sashimi and risotto was lovely but I'm told the meat was not 'anything special' . The place is noisy as it is mainly visited by office parties and business meetings and I probably would not go back with friends and/or family or for leisure.

THE BEST BEEF IN LONDON
My husband, my 20 month old baby girl and I went to London last week for a short holiday. We discovered Gaucho at Canary Wharf after our disastrous visit to Rodizio Rico and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meats they have there.
I am from South America and very familiar with the beef form Brazil and Argentina and I have to say, when I tried the filet-churrasco at this restaurant, I felt like home . My husband had the rib eye which also was very tasty but our definite winner is the filet.
The service was very good, they have an amazing wine selection (we recommend the Malbec-president's blend) and in general they were very attentive with us even though we had a very active 20 month old with us.
Don't forget to try the minced beef empanadas (appetizer) they are just like in Buenos Aires.........the real deal !
The restaurant is beautiful, romantic and well located.
BTW we lked it that much ......we went back the next evening and again the beef was superb. There was some sort of event-cocktail that night and the waiters were a little distressed and eventhough the service was alittle slower than the night before, it was kind and nice.
I agree with the poster who said that they have the smallest bowl of chips I have ever seen for 3 pounds, but we LOVED the bernaise sauce, it was fingerlicking good.
Yes its pricey but I think is worth it!

I have been visiting Canary Gaucho about 2 years now.
My experience at the Gaucho have been fantastic but unfortunately they new minicab company ruins the idea of good evening. Seems that Gaucho don't care what is gonna happen to their cliental after leaving the restaurant. It is a shame but we won't be back again.
