This restaurant is lovely.
I've been there twice now and both times have been memorable experiences.
The ambience is relaxed and welcoming. The decor is charmingly retro. The food is fantastic. I've lived in Japan for 2 years and this is the real thing. Even down to the mayo used in the prawn tempura handroll, which tasted like Japanese kyuupi mayo.
Highlights were: katsu curry - one of the best and probably the biggest in london, said prawn tempura handroll, yaki soba and of course, the sushi.
I live quite near this place and it's fast becoming my regular.

I decided to visit this restaurant after reading all the reviews and have been a few times since. The food and service were great. I always have sushi and a cooked dish, and I can fault neither. The service is pleasant and quick. The chef is always friendly and offers a small taster on arrival. Fantastic for a friends get together as its fairly quiet during evenings. Price is reasonable compared to other expensive restaurants.

My boyfriend and i had a wonderful dining experience here. With a combination of excellent mouthwatering food and wonderful service, what more could we ask for? The sashimi is to die for-it is undeniably the best in town! The waitress was friendly and made us feel at home. Though slightly pricey, it is definitely worth it. Do give it a try! Trust me, you'll love it!

My boyfriend and I dine at Ginnan very frequently. The staff are all friendly and the chef always gives us extra as we are constantly eating there! The sashimi is creamy, melt-in-the-mouth, the miso soup is great for warming you up and the spinach with sesame sauce is great!! I like the idea of the different tasters before the main course as it gives us a chance to taste something different every time. Value for money is 10/10. The sushi here is excellent. See for yourselves!!

I was lucky to be treated to luncheon at Ginnan recently, and it made for an interesting and highly enjoyable experience. The food was exquisitely prepared and presented, with rich flavours and interesting sauces. The use of authentic bowls and jugs added to the fun, while the tea was delicate and the warm sake delicious. I tried my hand at the steak which was superb. My only slight issue was that with chopsticks only, you can't cut sushi into smaller, bit-size pieces, or cut off a bit of fat or gristle from the corner of the steak.
Overall, excellent.

I work around the corner from this restaraunt and it never fails. The atmosphere is very calming and relaxing and the staff are brilliant. I have tried just about everything on the lunch menu and would have to say that the salmon teryaki is their best dish.
