Extremely attentive staff. Lovely food. Go for the set menu - it comes with everything you need for a really tasty filling meal.

We agree with Keith. We are regulars at Ginnan and decided to order delivery as well. After 3 hours, 5 chase up calls and many promises, there was still no delivery. If you are thinking about getting a delivery, don't. Stick to eating at the restaurant if you are keen on the food. Ginnan needs to invest an A-Z for their driver or some effective GPS thing.

Tried this restaurant (have been Tokyo and a big japanese food fan) and the standards were pretty good. So we thought we would try their much self-promoted delivery service one sunday evening - it took 2.5 hours and after much chasing they agreed to give us the delivery drivers number in case he was lost...it turns out the useless fella couldn't find it, took the food back and had the nerve to act as though that was ok.

When calling, the waitress was falsely apologetic - the service that evening was enough to sour me wanting to go there again. I'm not fussy and never write reviews on this but it has annoyed me enough to do so. There are so many other restaurants out there that have better service.

I have been going to this restaurant for over eight years. In that time I've seen a few changes to the menu and the decor but the food has always been excellent and the service very friendly and attentive. The prices haven't changed much over that time either!

Having tried various Japanese restaurants in London this is still my favourite!

Ginnan is one of our favourite restaurants, whether for eating in or for takeaways. Lovely bento boxes with various side dishes in it and just nice for dinner. Eating in, our favourites are the ebi tempura futomaki, kinpira gobo, yasai salad, butakakuni, sushi sets, salmon sashimi and potato salad. Everything is well prepared and quite excellent. They have such lovely free starters that many times we have wondered why they did not add it in a separate today's special menu. The service is absolutely wonderful and very attentive. We have enjoyed many many meals there. Lately I think they have excluded some of their trademark dishes from their menu such as kinpira gobo and butakakuni, which is a real shame as we cannot find their equivalent anywhere else in London. These two dishes are real treats in their own right and excellently well done. Their salmon sashimi is amazing. Really fresh and creamy. Another dish which one could order there is their butashogayaki but I do prefer this one in Donzoko. For us, their strengths are their small dishes like all those varied but nameless free starters we have enjoyed many many times and kinpira gobo. Prices are a bit above average overall but cheap for a Japanese restaurant. Mondays are their set menus/sushi buffet day with great value for money. Totally recommend this restaurant for all the above.
