We went to this place on Saturday night and had the £25 set menu. The food was amazing, plenty of it and the staff were friendly and attentive. A great place to go for a group of people. The pork ribs, squid were favourites and the chicken was amazing! Would definitely go back.

Ate here last night and the service was rubbish and the food was of a very poor standard. Salt & Chilli Squid was tasty but a very small portion. The presentation of the dish was even more disappointing, as if a piece of paper with Japanese writing on it will lift the dish or enhance its authenticity. The Char Soi Pork with Bok Choi was drenced in a sweet sickly overpowering and unconvincing sauce and the pork itself was chewey and fatty.

I was offered a drink as soon as sat down which was good but then I had to wait 10 minutes for it to arrive and it was not even busy. I was desperate to leave but had to wait another 10 minutes to pay for my meal as the staff had disappeared after giving my bill and no one came to my table to take payment. The decor is to dark in side and would happily recommend this restaurant to Gordon Ramsey for a slot on his Kitchen Nightmares TV show. It was not good.

Went last night for dinner with a friend. The waiter was extremely arrogant and patronising, mocking our choices from the menu and generally making us feel as uncomfortable as possible. Overspill from the bar meant there was a crowd of drunken bankers shouting near our table. All of this would have been almost bearable if the food had been anything more than average. Not planning on going back in a hurry.

If you want good food in a great atmosphere with excellent service then this place is brilliant!!!

My husband and i went on Saturday night for our 1st year anniversary!

We were greeted by very friendly staff who allowed us to choose were we wanted to sit, and then brought us some drinks (we ordered the organic rose £25.... lovely... ) then our waitress sat down next to us and went through the menu with us giving us her recommendations!!! We found this very helpful :-)

We ordered from the dim sum menu for starters followed by prawn pad thai, sea bass and green veg for our main......... all was wonderful and very filling!!! For desert we shared a chocolate pudding with green tea ice-cream..... you have to allow 20min cooking time for this .... we found the break meant we could just about fit it all in!!!

Total cost for three courses, a good bottle of wine and excellent service (including a 12.5% tip ) was just under £80 for the two of us!!!

We ended the evening with tasty cocktails in the DJ bar down stairs!!!... much fun, dancing and good bar staff!!!

What a great night! Tuesday night, so the downstairs bar wasn't open but started with a cocktail in the ground floor bar. Great service, completely unpretentious and friendly and a good, strong inexpensive cocktail (£6).

Then to the meal.. Excellent service again, really friendly girl explaining the dishes, obviously trying to get rid of a couple of dishes but having a laugh when I teased her about it. The food was great - big portions and incredibly tasty.

Not really 'cheap', but when the bill came (£105 for 2) it seemed like great value, although I'd definitely give the cheap Pinot Noir a miss next time!

This place felt really chilled out but served really good food and the service was pretty much perfect.

the service here is terrible. We had a waitress who acted like it was an inconvenience. the food is average. the black cod (£19.50) is an outrage - the portion is the same size as you get in yo sushi for £5. the manager told us this is how it comes after we complained, then she disappeared!?!

A last minute change resulted in the choice of the restaurant. Wonderfully diverse oriental menu with the best selection from each kitchen. Food was well prepared, and thoroughly enjoyable. Only downer was the speed by which everything around th restaurant happens, the 2hrs seemed to whizz by. Good work guys.

We were able to get a table at the last moment and the whole experience was great. The dimsums were gorgeous. I would highly recommend the squid. As main course we had the black cod, delicious, the duck salad, extremely yummy, and the crispy chicken upon the recommendation of the waitress, was unfortunately lacking in imagination. But all in all, a great meal at a great price. Will definetely go back

Took my Mum, Dad and girlfriend for celebratory dinner on Friday and loved it.

The food was fantastic and our waitress was extremely helpful. She explained the menu to us very well and made good recommendations.

The whole feel to the place is very good also. It’s not so quiet you feel intrusive on the next table and not so loud you have to shout at each other.

At the end the bill was also very reasonable, for the standard of the food that evening it was a steal.

All in all a brilliant night and I would highly recommend this place for any occasion.

A group of friends and I went to the Great Eastern on Friday to celebrate my birthday. We had a few cocktails in the bar before dinner, which were very refreshing! The service in the restaurant was just superb, the waiter was friendly & took his time to explain the impressive menu to all of us. The food was certainly the best I have tasted in a long while. The atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxed & sophisticated. We spent the entire evening at the Great Eastern and carried on with cocktails downstairs in the groovy bar area. I would recommend the Great Eastern for a very good night out. I
