Hamilton's

As someone who loves to cook, and does so very often and reasonably well, I have deep respect for the quality and artistry coming from the kitchen in Hamiltons. They provided me with my best meal of the year so far and I'm going back very soon.

At last, a restaurant that puts more effort into the food and service than the decor! Huge portions of delicious Italian cuisine, and waitresses flying around getting the food out in good time. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal (meatballs and spaghetti) and can't wait to go back and try something else from the menu. Highly recommend for food lovers but not posers!

Went to Hamilton's two days ago for a business lunch. Agree with a previous reviewer about the general tattiness of the decor - especially upstairs on visiting the gents. The food was OK albeit on the pricey side but I suspect they can get away with it as most diners appeared to be weilding corporate Amex cards. The only true disappointment was a seafood risotto which was swimming in oil but my fellow diners seemed contented with their choices. Despite the averageness of the food and surroundings, the service shone through and we were well looked after.

The brasserie / restaurant on the ground level and mezzanine floors is perfect for either a quick business lunch or more leisurely affair. The service is prompt and professional and the food superb - I keep taking clients and friends back there time and again. I've never been disappointed save when the heating wasn't working in mid-winter!

The service was good but definitely not somewhere to go without a company credit card in terms of value for money. For a personal visit I'd expect a lot more from a restaurant charging these kind of prices, though the choice of seafood as well as the usual pasta dishes was a plus point.
