Wandering along Old Street, we decided to sample a wee bit of Hoxton trendiness by popping in for a coffee. Alas, the place was chaotic. Tables were not being cleared very quickly, and therefore, they had no space for us. We sat outside, and after waiting for around 10 minutes, one of us went indoors again to order our 3 coffees. What turned up were two coffees and a Coke. Okay - well, it was liquid. What really let this place down were the toilets. The mens were completely out of order due to cleaning (was a Saturday lunchtime the best time to do this??), and so I had to use the women`s. No handpaper in either the mens or womens toilets, and none of the 4 hand-dryers were working, either. Sitting back outside, a beggar was working the terrace. We made our escape. Maybe we caught it at a bad time. However, the overall atmosphere of chaos and disorganisation means that I most definitely won`t be visiting here again.

All was going well at this restaurant until I found that I was paying £25 for a set menu that only cost £16 if I'd ordered it a la carte. As I was there for a friend's Birthday I didn't want to kick up too much of a fuss, but the guy in charge did a poor job of explaining why I had to pay this premium for the set menu. I had the 3 asparagus spears for starter and my friends had the monkfish which was raw (unintentionally, I believe). Mains were alright but were ruined by the feeling of being completely fleeced. The toilets were horrible and all in all I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

We had our Christmas dinner there. Service was ok. My white wine was served warm which was awful. The quail was absolutely tiny and the pate or whatever it was was not my cup of tea. The steaks are ok though.

Cool club/bar but not somewhere I'd go to eat a meal.
