Moshi Moshi Sushi (Liverpool Street)

I have been here on numerous occasions, and always found it to be a good experience. I normally go for the Stamina Set, which is a set meal with a variety of things to try, and the waiters will pander to realistic changes if asked nicely.
There is an extra 50p cover charge for eat-in, but it is worth paying for to sit and soak up the atmosphere. Booths/tables are good for when in a group, but sitting at the conveyor belt allows you to view the frsh fish being cut, and you can make special requests directly to the chefs if you can't see what you want. Take care though, as you can easily mount up a bill by not watching the number of plates you eat!!

Sushi from the refrigerator, not from the hands of the chef -- brought in, under clingfilm (yes, I saw the rolls sitting there), from an off-site kitchen and sliced, or plated out and decorated, behind a curtain at the end of the conveyor belt. Cold rice without flavour (none of that puff of partly sweet, partly vinegary aroma that comes from rice scooped warm from the steamer tub), wasabi that through sitting had lost its punch; although the fish was good, the sushi experience was dire. Add to that a 50p "cover charge" per person and £1.70 for a (small) pot of tea per person, and I find no reason to visit this restaurant ever again. Let me put it this way: A step up from Sainsbury's takeaway packets but not something for someone who has ever had proper sushi!

I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend the other day because we needed to have a quick bite before going to a theatre. When you are in a hurry, I think this restaurant is really convenient: they can serve food very quickly.
However, I was very disappointed at the quality of their sushi. The rice part was too dry, cold, and not soft enough. I immediately thought that they might have got rice parts into shape in advance and kept them in the fridge for a long while for their "quick-service" sake. I was not happy to pay 10 pounds for such a low-quality sushi plate. Now, I've got the need to eat a proper sushi plate somewhere different!

It was my first time in a sushi bar when i came to london for a long weekend. This is a great place to sit and have lunch even if you just want a light meal to set you up for the rest of the day shopping arround London. I think, im not sure, but the salmon nigi (think thats right) was the best. GO HERE ITS NICE!

I am new to the whole sushi experience and thanks to this nice restaurant, it has been easier to understand the different types of sushi. The staff is very friendly and ready to explain to the novice the delicacies that roll in front of you in the belt. Highly recommended if you are short of time.

Went here on friday for a fairly early dinner (around 8pm). Had about 10 dishes, which were ok, but really nothing special. During the time we were there, very few fresh dishes appeared on the conveyer, and the tuna carpaccio was chewy and dry, but the gyoza and tempura prawns we ordered were good. Staff were friendly and helpful. I don't think I'd go back - for the price Itsu and Yo! Sushi are both better.

I took my 9 year old son here during the Easter holidays. We both loved it; the food is freshly prepared in front of you, which he thought was brilliant. The staff were attentive, without being overbearing. Different priced dishes make it easy to budget, so £20 per person is easily manageable. It is worth getting there as close to midday as you can to avoid having to wait, although it never felt crowded. I am tempted to go to other Sushi bars, but am worried now that they won't live up to this one.

This is great as an after work place to meet up, especially if your friends arrive at different times. You don't have to wait around for a mass order, you can just graze and pick at different dishes. The staff are friendly and patient too, which always adds to a good experience. As with most sushi places, there is a great selection for vegetarians and those who are averse to raw fish, so don't be put off even if you wouldn't naturally gravitate towards a sushi bar.
