disappointing. the manager was rude. the food was perfectly adequate, if not inspired. the prices were perfectly reasonable. the service was not particularly good. my girlfriend asked the waiter why it was necessary for one of us to almost stand up and wave to get any service. she asked it politely and jokingly, trying to make light of it. the manager came and asked us how we were doing with a false air of forced bonhomie. he was also rather loud and was almost playing to audience: as if he found us funny or strange people. we explained. he answered that these things happen, there was nothing to complain about, and implied that we were complaining types, which we are not. a restaurant with bad service is a restaurant that is not worth going to. i have never complained before. so be warned.

We had always enjoyed this restaurant and decided to go there for a special family birthday. It was the biggest disappointment. We waited over an hour for our food, our children becoming desperate. The waiter knocked me on the head as he pulled a cork out of the wine bottle. They tried to make light of it when we asked repeatedly for our food. But it was the manager's reaction to my husband refusing to pay the service that means we will never step foot into the restaurant again. He pulled out his pockets and said that even he could afford service. My husband explained that he felt we had not had any service. The manager blamed the kitchen staff. And then pointed out to my husband that he never forgot a face. A threat he needn't worry about because he won't see us again.

I attended a work meeting here and found it perfect for a seasonal meal. It had enough atmosphere to feel welcome and involved, while offered plenty of space between tables and staff that kept the right distance! Food was predominantly Italian though saw some good Northern European option throughout the menu. The carpaccio and pasta dishews I had were great, though nothing hugely imaginative or fussy. Verygood set lunch menu that would be great for a pit stop whilst put hitting the shops!
