Wow, people are really sticking the boot in. Well, we have an office meal at the Raj every Christmas and it's always fine. Not really top drawer, but perfectly decent British curry restaurant fare. I always have the lamb saag and it's very nice. As for the place itself, it's been refitted this year so it's a lot more modern.

This is the worst curry house in London. We went there on Good Friday. We were the only ones in the restaurant. The staff were very rude and impatient. The food was very poor, our dishes were luke warm. My wife had the Thali and the chicken was grissley. We even had to ask for cutlery. To round the evening off the hot towels came up and my one had a long black hair wrapped around it. I mentioned this to the waiter and he just offered me another one, I declined. Avoid this restaurant.

Would not go back. Food was oily and not very tasty, no atmosphere, staff were not very friendly, nothing special at all. For a city with such great Indian eating I would look elsewhere.

Admittedly, I had had a few drinks when I went here on a Friday night but I can certainly recall that it was a disappointing meal and undoubtedly relies on people's odd fondness for any sort of dish with a few spices in, all washed down with a cold Cobra beer. The restaurant looks as if is has not had a lick of paint since the 1980s and the food has not progressed much either.
