What a disappointment it was. We should have seen the warning, when we found ourselves munching on soggy prawn crackers while perusing the menu. The Nonya Popiah was nothing more than four little spring rolls. The Satay Chicken was dry and bland. The only exciting thing about it was the hair we found on the cucumber garnish. The Tiger Prawns with Chili and Ginger were simply four prawns coated in some generic sweet red sauce. At a price tag of 12.50 (more than 3 pounds for each prawn), the kitchen should have tried a little harder. The Ayam Tempra, the house specialty, was better but forgettable.
By then I was feeling utterly taken advantage of. Call me stubborn, but I was determined to find something good about this restaurant and took a chance with dessert. The "homemade" ice cream and sorbet were surprisingly good. But it was too little too late.
