We were served very bad cheap white bread, not the fresh Turkish type of bread that was expected.

Our dishes were far too sugary and very, very small portions - lacking both quality and quantity. We also found the service to be shoddy.

Overall this place is asking far too high prices for the quality and quanitity of food they are serving without the service!

We also had a very rude response on arrival, the Manager did not want to seat us upstairs (although ample space) and wanted us to sit downstairs where there were only 'small stools' to sit on.

We had reserved a table for six for my Mothers birthday and did not want to sit on stools.

The Manager / Owner? was approached upstairs where he was sitting with a coffee with a colleague - he refused at first to allow us to sit upstairs where the seating was more suitable for both my Mother and the occasion. Eventually they gave us appropriate seating.

Do not confuse this place with its' sister restaraunt - Gallipoli Bazaar where the food and service are fine.

The Cafe is a cheap take off and they are serving absolute rubbish and is overpriced.

Very disappointed and am shocked that they can get away with running such a business like this.

Gourmet Chick

Gourmet Chick - 6/10

Friday, July 17, 2009 - Soft pillows of Turkish bread arrive accompanied by lashings of creamy hummus and a moreish broad bean dip that is a skillful combination of an acidic yoghurt base with spring fresh beans. Fried calamari sports batter that is crispy rather than greasy and the calamari is pliant and tasty...Gallipoli is the type of restaurant that is good for groups particularly those looking to kick start a night out. The food is good but not great as a whole. Still, it is hard to complain when the bill for a veritable banquet of food along with a few drinks is 25 per head.
