Walked past the other day and this place appears to be under renovation.
Only been once and had the most dreadful experience (already described below).
If it reopens please let its reincarnation be either a steak, Chinese or Spanish restaurant....whatever it is it will be a welcome replacement for the old!!

Given that Chiswick High Road is bursting at the seam with restaurants, Gravy more than holds its own. The menu is short and simple, service is friendly and the prices are reasonable.

A real disappointment! We went last year on the back of justifiable praise and enjoyed excellent service, atmosphere and food. We returned tonight, the atmosphere and service remains excellent but the food was not even edible in some instances. The quality of the ingredients was disappointing and it was poorly cooked. The meal represented poor value for money and the chef appears to have become very complacent.

My partner and I dined here earlier this evening having walked past the restaurant many times in the last few months.
The restaurant seems very pleasant from the outside. Inside it was empty for the entirety of our meal.
I ordered from the a la carte menu; my partner from the Express menu at £10.95 for two courses.
For starters I ordered crab and prawn fishcake with a light seafood bisque. The portion was substantial but was of very low quality. I could have made much better at home. The light seafood bisque turned out to be a cloying and cheap tomato sauce which did not suit the dish. My partner's starter of stir fry noodles with prawn looked as if it was straight from a supermarket ready meal pack and tasted much the same.
The main was much the same. Like the previous reviewer I had the duck with pumpkin mash. The duck was roasted and presented nicely and the quality was acceptable. However, there was no sense of texture to the dish- the two accompanying ingredients (pumpkin mash and the apple and fennel marmelade) were both gooey and disgusting. I left most of it. My partners minute steak came with french fries that tasted stale and straight from a packet. The steak itself was well cooked but full of gristle. Most of it had to be disgarded.
Service seemed slick but was slightly over-attentive as there were too many waiters for very few customers.
This is an incredibly disappointing restaurant which is simply no match for the local competition. Some reviewers have praised this restaurant for being unstuffy and unpretentious and serving good food...I am baffled. Gourmet Burger Kitchen (just over the road) beats this place hands down for value for money. Fishhook (5 mins walk away) knocks the socks off this place for quality of food, service and atmosphere.
We will not be returning and advise others to avoid.

Enthusiastic yet not very skilled service, below average food at above average prices for this type of restaurant.
I had "Roast Duck Breast on Pumpkin mash and apple and chicory marmelade". Duck was indeed roasted, but of poor quality and chewy; pumpkin mash was crunchy, tasting of raw uncooked pumpkin (when I complained the chef sent the message that it was supposed to be like that!!) and the marmelade, was simply a puree.
Either the chef was having a bad night or this restaurant just doesn't make the grade. Oh, and the toilets were filthy too.

We stopped off to sit outside Gravy on a balmy summer evening for a cocktail and a snack. I ordered a Mojito, which was the worst i have tasted. It was dark green (not usual for a mojito!) and tasted like it had been made with mint sauce! The Caipirinha was better but the two starters we ordered to share were disappointing. Run of the mill calimari, on a bed of unispiring limp lettuce and two tiny scallops on very boring celeriac puree. Service was iritating. The waiter called us 'kids' despite the fact he was the same age as us. The bill was £28 with service. Not impressed. !
