Konnigans

I have been going to Konnigans for the last five years. it is my favourite place to go with my wife. the food is fantastic, service good and it has a cosy atmosphere. In the winter we go most weekends for breakfast and read the papers. Mostly though we pop in for a bit to eat on a Friday evening and love using the garden for early supper during the summer

I feel it is very sad that people are all to quick to judge restaurants, all businesses have an off day and I have never had a problem with the standard of food or service that Konnigans offers me.

I love this place the food is great, the fish pie the best in town and the staff can be friendly. Had my 30th birthday last week and had the pork fillet, it was good. My friends enjoyed the experience and can't wait to go back.

I have been to Konnigans for the last year or so now, at first the sevice was fantastic but now it seems to have gone downhill.

I enjoy eating out and want to give this restaurant every opportunity to prove itself but alas it does not.

Why may you ask is why I keep going back and my only reason now is for a hangover cure (breakfast) but be prepared to wait with your Sunday papers to amuse yourself!

I moved to Wandsworth a few months ago and was really glad to find these bars/restaurants outside the station, they all seemed very cosy and perfect for a quiet evening out without having to go to central london.

Unfortunately, Konnigans disappointed me lots! I went there for the first time, waiters took ages to serve us, the food didn't taste good and the dishes were very different from what appeared in the menu discription, but worst of all was the service!!! waiters were very rude, and unfriendly so over all a huge disappointment.

But this is not based on only one ocassion as I tried to go there at different times of the day and it is a shame I cannot return as the ambience is really nice.

I eat out with my partner very often..too often. Living in Wandsworth I have been going to Konnigans for years, up to twice weekly, enjoying the good food and wine list. The place actually looks pretty good and is very comfortable..... HOWEVER, over the last year the food quality and service has been deteriorating. Every single time that Iv been there over the past few months..8-10 times somthings been wrong...burned or undercooked food, wrong orders, cold food.

A change in management brough new music that thumps throught the speakers inappropriately for its setting. Bringing large groups became an embarassment so I stopped a few months ago.

What a dissapiontment it is to have what was a wonderful restauraunt go downhill so quickly. If you do decide to go there and experience bad food dont bother telling the staff..they really dont seem to care! I had a dreadful last meal yesterday..It was so handy for me but having given Konnigans so many chances to pick up over recent months I wont be going again....well not until I see the 'under new management' sign outside! I wait in hope.

Had a really enjoyable meal here with a group of friends on a Thursday night.

The restaurant is a lovely room - rustic without being twee with nice big tables and enough space that no one feels squashed in

But the food is really exceptional. The steaks were all cooked exactly as ordered and my friend's fish pie was the best I've tried (better than the Ivy, and that is saying something!)

No complaints at all about the service - food and wine arrived promtly and glasses were topped up regularly

All in all, a lovely neighbourhood restaurant - we'll definitely be back soon

I work near Konnigans and it is a fantastic place for lunch - the specials menu is good value and changes daily. Portions are large, I've always been pleased with my food and it's a pretty restaurant with friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere.

Service can be a little slow, especially when busy, but overall it's lovely place and I'd definitely recommend it.

I went for a sunday roast in this restaurant and i was very disappointed. The so clled yorkshire pudding was rock hard and had no taste to it, the beef was poached in red wine instead of being roasted and the gravy looked like muddy water.

I am very sorry to inform people that there are much better places to go and eat in Wandsworth Town. Even the chinese take away next door serves better food.

What a shame???

Used to frequent this place weekly. Always great food and the best breakfasts and Sunday roasts. However, the service is atrocious, I nearly always had to ask for something they forgot, (usually a drink or extra's but even once my friends lunch) even have to ask someone to take our order more often than not. Just allow plenty of time and view it as a lazy place to eat with a newspaper or lots of conversation!

Very generous bar snacks (the scampi was delicious) and OK cocktails during happy hour, but I agree with posts below about the slow and quite rude service. Bit disappointed as live nearby and would have liked to have found a good local.
