I was really pleased with the food and service. Went on a Friday night and it was really busy, which is always a good sign. I will definitely go back to Ma Goa and would highly recommend it.

We visited here recently and had the special Yam Kebab and Seafood Biryani. Both outstanding and showed off the chef skills. Service was friendly and courteous without being overly intrusive. Look forward to visiting again soon. A real gem if your`re a bit of a foodie!

I went there just a couple of days ago and was I have to say that the overall experience was rather disappointing, regardless of a really good customer service and the opportunity to use the Taste card. If I had to pay for the whole thing with the set prices I would be furious!

The portions were rather small and not competitively priced. We started with some starters (£5-6 each). The family favourite - Sorpotel was particularly disapppinting, as it was pretty much just meat in a spicy sauce. It could have been served with some bread, but it wasn't. It definitally felt like someting was missing. We also tried a couple of mains for almost £12 each, which consisted of a few small pieces of chicken or fish in a curry sauce. There was nothing great about the flavours, just fine, the presentation was really poor and it was just about enough for one if you had some naan bread and rice.

All in all, it wasn't anything special, like some of the reviews state. I'm actually writing it to highlight the fact that there won't be anything great there, if you decide to give it a go, so set the expectations right from the start. Also, as a local in Putney, I would rather recommend Taj Mahal on Upper Richmond Road, which surely won't leave you unsatisfied.

Great food, efficient and informative service to be found at this family - run local.

I have been visiting Ma Goa for many years and I find the food to be well presented, delicious and unique. Particularly enjoy the Cafrael chicken, Goan Chorizo and sanna bread. Local or not be sure to give it a try.

I went to this restaurant as it had high reviews but when sitting down looking at the menu i quickly realised there wasn't many dishes to choose from for an indian restaurant. When i recieved my food i was shocked at the portion size,a potato dish worth five pound consisted of four tiny pieces potatoes, chicken dishes also had only four small slices of chicken.I ordered a chicken dish called konkan which honestly tasted liked chicken in tinned tomatoes i complained about this and was given a free dessert which didn't worked out to well as the chicken dish was £9.00 (wasn't eaten) dessert was £4.25 and given a service charge of £6.00.I have never complained in a restaurant before but this was unacceptable.I advise going to Munal tandoori in upper richmond rd as the portions are generous taste and quality is amazes and no service charge.

Recently ate here for the first time in a little while having moved out of the area some years ago. We had booked for a Wednesday night and I'm glad we did, since by 8pm the restaurant was already looking full and the atmosphere buzzed pleasantly with chatter from groups of all sizes and ages.

The food was, as ever, delicious. Between us we had a range of dishes including the always excellent salmon starter, 2 mains and a number of sides (aubergine + spinich & paneer both recommended). Everything I tasted was terrific.

Service was generally good, although it tailed off a little as the evening wore on and the restaurant filled. This is a problem not restricted to Ma Goa - I think all waiters fall victim to a dose of the cash symbols lighting up as new customers walk through the door. Waiting staff (& management) everywhere would do well to remember that even though the difference between you choosing dessert/coffee may only be another few quid on the bill, it may well be the difference between when (or indeed if) you return. To put it in context, this was only a minor gripe in an otherwise very enjoyable evening.

Whilst not inexpensive, the bill represented good value for money and 3 of us left with smiles on our faces.

Pleased Ma Goa is going strong, and I look forward to my next visit.

Having wanted to try Ma Goa for quite some time now the opportunity came round yesterday evening. Despite my anticipation have waited to get to the restaurant for over a year, I was not disappointed. The food, the setting, the staff and fellow diners made the experience the tops!

I enjoyed the Batair Quail imbued with spices from Bihar then cooked over charcoal followed by Porco Vindaloo, Traditional pork vindaloo with palm vinegar, kashmiri chili & garlic masala with Yellow lentils with asafetida (hing), chilli & roasted cumin, Spinach, dill, chopped spring onion, fresh fenugreek & paneer cheese , rice and chapatis. Washed down with draught Kingfisher.

Can't wait to return.
