What a gem! It's always nice to find a place like this in London! The value for money in amazing, our meal was fantastic from start to finish. If you want to sample quality French cuisine and not break the bank, then this is the place to be! Enjoy!

Lovely evening at this restaurant - good value, high quality food and equally as importantly, helpful and courteous staff who made us feel welcome to be there. We will return.

I visited this restaurant first time for my friends birthday party. We had a very lovely time. But we had limited time. And had to leave by 9 pm. After 2 weeks I cameback with my girlfriend. It was really good. Romantic atmosphere, not professional but friendly staff, all the complements to the chef. From my last 2 years experience visiting this place best days to come here is Sunday toThursday.

I discovered Le Mercury 6 months ago, and since my first time, I`m going there at least twice a week! Lovely food, polite and friendly staff, romantic atmosphere! All the things you need for excellent dinning experience! I have to say the place is very well known and very popular, so popular that is most likely not to find any tables available on Fridays and Saturdays! But who can blame them, great service and value for money food!!!!!

I recently visited this restaurant with a group of friends. Unfortunately I had to make a complaint about a waiter who had upset me. I approached the manager who asked the waiter to apologize to me. As I was brought my food the waiter came over and shouted at me in front of the whole restaurant asking me why I had made a complaint. I was so caught off guard this highly upset me, instead of making a scene in front of the whole restaurant, I went straight to the manager. Who said I was lying!!! In the end everyone at my table so outraged with how I was being shouted at and I couldnt even speak. The manager said to me... "I do believe in the customer always being right... but not when you're wrong" It was ridiculous. I wished to make a complaint but of course there was no one I could speak to as the manger was shouting at me! I had to walk out in the end, basically left in tears, even customers were coming out to ask if I was ok and couldnt believe I how I was spoken to.
I would have to say the worst customer service I have ever had! and no one to voice my opinion to as there is no contact email on the website. The food did look lovely but unfortunately I never manged to eat it.

I have never ever written a review before, but in this case, thought I had too. The staff are rude. The manager was even ruder. I have never in my 35 years of dining wanted to not pay for my food and left a restaurant physically shaking with anger. Here's what happened - The waiter (who been pretty rubbish all night) served a drink to us at 6.50 (We had booked an early supper and arrived at 5pm). Then 5 minutes later asked us to leave as they had another table coming in. Firstly, we were never told when we booked the table that we would have be done at a certain time and secondly, why, would you serve us a cocktail (priced at £6 each) if they wanted us to leave 5 minutes later?. To make matters worse, when we complained to the waiter, that we indeed had never been told about the time limit and again not told, when we ordered our last drink. He didn't apologise, he argued and pointed his fingers in our faces, telling us that he had told us. (He hadn't) I was in shock at his reaction and asked for the manager (naturally). When the manager came over he was even worse. He raised his voice and treated us like dirt and didn't seem to care about the scene he was creating. It was all so out of the blue. The argument went round in circles, and there was no sign that he was going to apologise any time soon. I put an end to it and demanded the bill. I left angry and 15 minutes after the time they had desprately needed their table for. There was no-one waiting for it, and a many tables free still. What happened to the customer always being right? Especially when they are! Totally ruined my evening. What RUDE RUDE people. Disgusting.

I really do not agree with the negative comments on this page. I've been to most of the french restaurants in Angel and compared to prices you pay at Fredericks - this restaurant is far more better. Food and staff are very friendly and courteous. I've been going to this place for last 2 years and I found no complain what so ever. Thank you

I am baffled to think that anyone would return to eat here.
I will not waste your time detailing the various inadequacies of the overall dining experience but will simply say that the food is terrible. And for a restaurant, that is a problem.

As a foodie-minded Londoner on a pretty tight budget, Le Mercury is my absolute favorite restaurant in the whole city. I have never had anything other than impeccable, friendly service and tasty, extremely reasonably-priced food when dining there. The restaurant is not big, and you might be seated a bit close to your neighbors, but this is why it's best suited for romantic tables for two and not groups! I happily recommend Le Mercury to anyone wanting a lovely, relaxed meal that ticks all the boxes and doesn't cost a bomb. Better value for money--and a creative menu, as well--cannot be found in London. And I'll be thrilled if all the nay-sayers choose to dine elsewhere in the future--more room for me!!!
