As a foodie-minded Londoner on a pretty tight budget, Le Mercury is my absolute favorite restaurant in the whole city. I have never had anything other than impeccable, friendly service and tasty, extremely reasonably-priced food when dining there. The restaurant is not big, and you might be seated a bit close to your neighbors, but this is why it's best suited for romantic tables for two and not groups! I happily recommend Le Mercury to anyone wanting a lovely, relaxed meal that ticks all the boxes and doesn't cost a bomb. Better value for money--and a creative menu, as well--cannot be found in London. And I'll be thrilled if all the nay-sayers choose to dine elsewhere in the future--more room for me!!!

Food was terrible, the restaurant was incredibly noisy and the service was slow. It was not expensive, but still bad value for money.

My Salmon arrived cold and my Carpaccio was roast beef!

Went to Le Mercury last night with my partner for his birthday and the food was really lovely. We've paid far more elsewhere for a meal that wasn't half as nice. The mussels were among the best we've tasted, anywhere, as was my halibut. The atmosphere was buzzy rather than romantic but that's because people were having a good time and everyone was talking. The service was faultless and our waiters very friendly and helpful. The food came in good time but we didn't feel rushed at all. The maitre-de was slightly scary, but his bark was probably worse than his bite. Granted, this was our first visit for several years, but if it's like this every night you won't be disappointed.

I have been using this restuarant for around 20 years however I doubt if I will return after my recent visit. Food is reasonable enough for the price but do not be fooled into thinking this is in any way a good place for a quiet or romantic evening. We were a party of five busy professional women who only get together about once a year, so were looking forward to catching up. We were seated in the top floor dining room, only after ordering and starting to eat did a party of about 30 celebrating a birthday arrive to be seated in the same room. Due to the sheer number of people coupled with the absence of any noise absorbing soft furnishings the volume was ear splitting and our attempts at conversation ended up being abandoned as we got fed up with trying to hear what each other were saying. We left with blinding headaches having had a ruined evening, when I complained on leaving the maitre'd shrugged and said there was no other room he could put the party in. I will not be returning until they review their booking policy to ensure that those who quite reasonably wish to hold a conversation at normal level can do so while having their meal, party bookings of tbis size sould be accommodated in a separate room so as nto to cause such discomfort to others . Incidentally they care so little about what their customers think that even three weeks after writing to complain I have not had the courtesy of a reply.

Le Mercury never lets me down. I don’t understand how they keep the quality of food and service so high each and every time with there prices at such good value. Its extraordinary, truly impressed as you can see and recommend it to everyone. I would also recommend the Duck!

This is my most favourite restaurant in London and have been going to Le Mercury for years. It's always busy but I would happily sit and wait for an hour for the food. Its always delicoius and prices our astonishingly cheap for the quality of the food.

This used to be a nice place before they got greedy. I booked a table for my girlfriends birthday and was told i would have a nice table downstairs, romance etc, they ushered us to the third floor in cramped corner. Staff were rude when we complained and the manager essentially asked us to leave. I will never go back. They treat people appallingly

Incredible! Both the restaurant (excellent food & service and tremendous value for money) and some of the not-so-positive reviews I have just read. Still, I don't think that Le Mercury has anything to worry about if these illiterates don't ever return - in fact, I would be grateful if they didn't darken your doors again. I really do feel that people should at least have a basic command of the English language before writing such puerile nonsense. This aside, I look forward to my next visit to this excellent establishment.
