Mosaica @ The Factory

We went to Mosaica on Saturday 19 January 08 with friends. It is difficult to find if you do not know the area and we thought we were coming into an office building, but perserve and you will find it. It looked so inviting as we peered in waiting for our coats to be taken, lots of fairy lights and candles. The menu was very interesting and when we asked the waiter to explain some of the dishes he certainly knew what he was talking about. We were not hurried in any way, which in some way was very nice as it was relaxing, but in another we felt as if they had forgotten us, although I am sure that this was not the case. It was fairly loud, but it added to the atmosphere of the restaurant and tables are a good distance apart so apart we did not feel on top of any of the other diners. The food was really lovely, well presented and fresh produce was used. I had the salmon and the waiter explained that it wasn't cooked for long and it might look raw, however if I wanted it to be cooked for more they would do so, I went along how I thought the chef wanted to present it and I have to say it was delicious and not raw or cold as the previous reviewer said. We paid about £40.00 a head, but this did include 2 bottles of wine and beers. We certainly would go again.

I have recently moved to the Wood Green area with my boyfriend who used to live here a while ago. Whenever we think of going out in the area we always seem to plump for Turkish food in Green Lanes or head up to Muswell Hill for a nice relaxing dinner.
Until now! Its an absolute delight to find a fantastic restaurant on your doorstep and I was surprised to find one as good as Mosaica on mine. I've been back since our first time here and was really pleased to find it even better than my first visit. The atmosphere is superb - fairy lights, mis-matched antique armchairs, really friendly waiters and impressive food. The menu was different this time around - but I wasn't disappointed. My lamb fell of the bone as it was so tender and was a delicious follow-up to my 70's style prawn cocktail which was delicious and only had the plumpest of prawns!
Puddings are delicious and the wine list is affordable and varied - a difficult thing to pull off! The bar is relaxing and we weren't rushed out. In fact - even though we arrived at 7.30pm and decided to relax sipping gins till 11.30pm - the staff couldn't have been nicer.
I love this restaurant and will be going back for my 3rd visit very soon - the perfect place for birthdays, romantic dinners, meeting up with mates or just a quiet dinner. Its my kind of place - affordable, but with great style!!

We have lived in the area for about a year and have spent a lot of that time searching for a decent local place to dine out and failed...until tonight that is. Despite reservations about it being based on an industrial park once we got in there we felt like we have found a secret room. It was delightful, all dark and urban with an abundance of candles, fairy lights and a fantastic music play list on in the background. Staff were welcoming, friendly and informative. The best was yet to come. All our courses were executed skillfully. Quality ingredients, simply cooked and delicious to eat and all extremely good value for money. The only thing I'm disappointed about is we are moving out of the area but even so I still think we will be back soon to visit this little diamond in the rough....

Three of us went to Mosaica for a quiet birthday dinner and could not have been happier. It was a delight to find a restaurant of this quality in the neighbourhood.
The menu of the day was interesting and varied. The food was fresh, beautifully presented and skillfully cooked. While there were rich sauces where appropriate, there was a also a deft lightness of touch on the simpler dishes.
The wine menu was definitely a highlight. While being fairly short, it was very reasonably priced and well selected. Around half the wines were available by the glass, at outstandingly fair prices, which saved our normal argument about the wine, as we could each have our own choice at no great extra cost.
The service was also excellent. Informed and friendly; attentive without being over-the-top.
The building is industrial and the decor promotes some elements of this, and hides others, to create a classy feel that is still relaxed.
To top it all, the bill was very reasonable. We will definitely be back and I would recommend it to anyone.

I went to the Mosaica with some friends hoping to have a nice evening with good food.To cut a long story short 5 meals were ok the other meal which was salmon
was returned to the kitchen because it was raw. on its return the salmon was still
raw and cold. The head chief was walking past and we stopped to ask him a question and his reply was just Pay the Bill and Leave. We payed the bill and left
would i go back never and would not recommed anybody to go there. Not only has he lost our custom but if anybody reads this you will get better service from the local take aways.

We stopped going here after seeing such bad reviews over such a long period. We decided to give it another shot and were very pleased indeed. It back on form and food, service and value for money were all spot on.

Went here for dinner last night - really impressed. I've moved back to Wood Green after a period away, and had no idea this place existed. I'll normally traipse over to Muswell Hill or Palmers Green if I want to eat at somewhere nice, but I won't bother in future as this place was excellent.
Service is friendly and totally unpretentious, short and sweet wine list, and a very succinct menu that seems to change regularly. I had a perfectly cooked rib eye steak, and my girlfriend had pork belly which was fantastic. The food and menu actually reminded me a lot of the Medcalf in Clerkenwell - really simple but really, really nicely done. Excellent deserts too.
Its a tad hard to find if you don't know the area, but I thought that maybe even added to it. A hidden gem in the truest sense. The bar looked great too, and it seemed like the kind of place you could hang out and have a few drinks after dinner without getting rushed out.
Our bill (for 2 of us) came to about 70 quid - 3 courses, a bottle of Merlot, and service. Will 100% be going back, and will definitely bring friends. Loved it.

I agree wholeheartedly with the previous reviewer. We went to Mosaica for my birthday - a Sunday evening - live music and the most amazingly good food. The atmosphere was friendly and comfortable, encouraged by the very comfortable seating arrangement and the friendly staff. There's no pressure to eat up. Just sit back, have a drink and wait for the delicious, beautifully cooked, imaginative and wholesome food to arrive. Every dish was excellent from start to finish; every one a tastebud delight. I've been recommending it to everyone I know. Even thogh it might seem out of the way - just go there. It's a trip worth making.

The night we visited we were one of only two groups there. This is crying shame as it's been a long time since I was faced with such a fabulous choice of food. The care and thought and attention to detail that goes into the food is second to none. If this was situated anywhere that might get even some passing traffic it would be booked up every night. It's a lovely space and great food - go seek it out if you don't already know about it.

Johnnie Mountain has returned to Mosaica at the factory and all is well...the food is just like the old days, service is spot on, the music is as it should be with Tijuana Lady and the likes.....he is now no longer anything to do with the Pumphouse....the Lock or anything else.....just Mosaica, Mosaica, Mosaica.....so if there is a problem, speak to me directly as I am now there six days (and nights)...
Lots of Love
