The Salusbury

I have lived near The Salusbury for close on 6 years and watched in despair as the establishment has gone from a breath of fresh air in the area to an over-priced and, quite frankly, dirty bar. Last time I visited, no tables seem to have been cleared for quite some time and the staff, as is often the case in the 'cooler' bars of NW6 and environs, seem to feel they are hanging out at a friend's place, rather than serving food and drinks.

Great food! Great value! What else can you ask for?
Try the lamb is one of the best mains.
I´ve eaten in many places in London and I could say this is probably the best one, even better that most of expensive restaurants!

With regards to Brian Thomson's comment about it being expensive, not sure what your point of reference is Brian. Perhaps you generally eat at KFC, I'm not sure, but in my opinion the Salusbury is terrific value for money. I have eaten at handful of other gastro pubs in London who serve food of less quality for substantially more cost. So Brian, please return to Chicken Cottage and leave us good folk alone.

Great North(just) London pub serving excellent food. Wooden floors and a lovely atmosphere. I recently moved from Notting Hill and love this place. The food is very nice even if the menu doesnt change that much. The wine list is extensive and wine by the glass delicious. Around £54 for 2 with a bottle and starters. Highly recommended.

Great food and nice setting, chocolate fondant desert is particularly good - they could do with changing menu a little more often though as I think I have had everything on it at least twice - and whilst delicious, I like new things.

Lovely food, slow service. We came for Sunday lunch (four of us), the food really was tasty and pretty good value and I liked the atmosphere - busy but not hectic, and attractive surroundings. We did not order starters and then our mains took over 40 minutes (at least) and then they didn't arrive together. The service was mixed, in the main very friendly but the staff seemed too busy, our (empty) plates were left for ages once we had finished and we had to request menus for dessert after another wait. We will return but will keep my fingers crossed!

We have been often to the Salusbury and it is always great. But I have to say our last visit fo my birthday wasn't as good as the previous ones. Maybe it was due to staffing shortages (it was on the night of Italy v USA game) hence the Italian manager who is great, wasn't there. Service was a bit on the slow side but the food was great as always. They have started a non smoking policy throughout now, but not all is lost as the bar area is still full on smoking. All in all great food shame about the wait for the food. Will definately return

i've been to the salusbury many times and, believe me, it takes some beating. the food is exemplary and the menu changes often enough to eat there often, which indeed i try to. they even make their superb bread on the premises. the only thing to knock it is it's popularity so if you want a quiet meal choose your day and time carefully.
