We are a group of 8 people who regularly come to this place. Tonight we had a very pleasant evening. The food was superb. The service was very good. The place was buzzing with young people. Great atmosphere. We definitely will be back. The dining room could do with a little bit more lighting.

I am surprised to hear that some people thought staff were not friendly!

We hadn't been to the Salusbury for over a year and were really looking forward to checking it out again last week.

I'm sorry to say that like some of the other reviewers, we were disappointed in the quality of the food. I had linguine with crab and chilli and whilst the linguine was cooked well the flavour of the dish was a bit blah! Something was missing and think it was both the sweetness of garlic and some seasoning! My husband had the duck ragu - an old favourite. Again, it was just off the mark. It lacked depth of flavour and didn't have the richness you'd expect in such a dish.

The service was fine, if a bit slow and I guess I have paid more money for worse food so could have been worse I s'pose.

Have the changed the chef?

Wednesday, July 28, 2010 - The food is actually not half bad, in fact, it's pretty good. It's consistent. Gimmick free recipes are hardly ahead of the the curve, but I think it shines because it's hearty, wholesome cooking. The trademark dishes include pappardelle with duck ragu and their tagliatelle with lobster (sometimes served with the lobster shell, for dramatic effect) are the crowd favourites. The fish dishes such as cod with clams, mussels and cherry tomatoes are great too. Filling and warming.
