Lovely restaurant on Wimbledon Hill. Have been coming for years and it has never let me down. Went last week, after not having been for a while and the food is yummier than ever...think homemade cooking that gives you that warm feeling inside and purely comforting.
The staff have always been good but on this occassion they were briliant. So accomodating, friendly and on hand to any queries and a really good buzz about the place.
My boyfriend had the veal, which disappeared off his plate very quickly, so top points and I had the Guinea fowl which was so soft and tender.
Really fab evening and will be going back soon!

Just tried out this Italian restaurant with my wife and kids in Wimbledon. They have exceptional pasta dishes, and the best thin crust pizza's. They also have an extensive list of desserts which we were told are all home made.
The front of their restaurant was packed to the rafters and the place seemed genuinely busy. Staff were accommodating, friendly and maybe a little relaxed but overall we really really enjoyed the night so we'll definitely be back.
If you like good Italian food come here.

Just had a fantastic lunch here - the second in the space of a week! I liked it that much. There aren't many (any) nice outside spaces near Wimbledon station, unless sitting on the side of the road or on a cramped and smokey roof terrace is your thing, so this was a real find. I always wanted to try San Lorenzo, but the a la carte menu is quite pricey so I was delighted to see they now offer a good value 'garden cafe lunch menu' with sandwiches, pasta and salads for £6/7. The garden cafe itself has a really nice atmosphere and the waiters are super-friendly and attentive without being intrusive. A nice touch is the half carafes of wine (the house wine is good) which are perfect for a mid-week lunch. On the first visit that they brought us complimentary olives and bread (worth a few quid) with our cheese and ham boards. I loved the attention to detail - honey and walnuts with the cheeses and a gorgeous tasting olive oil drizzled on the hams. Today we opted for sandwiches which were packed with good quality ingredients and came with crisps and olives. I'll be going there for business and leisurely lunches alike from now on. I can't think of anywhere else nearby I'd rather be.

Absolutely appalling. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. This restaurant might have been wonderful 'back in the day' but certainly not now. The name certainly does not justify the very high prices. The Menu could hardly be described as traditional Italian more what they can make money from. The food was basic and could have been cooked better by the average person at home. For example, chips were not even hand made but from a packet - even though they were sprinkled with 'designer' herbs! The wine list was overpriced and anyone with some common sense would know they could pick up a better bottle for around a tenner in Majestic or Laithwaites. This is a restaurant that needs to learn what good food is about and provide some in order to justify the price tag!
