Small & Beautiful

This place is adorable - a real breath of fresh air. It is unbelievably good value for delicious and imaginative food. Attentive, charming waiters also. We have just moved into the neighbourhood and will be frequent visitors.

I have been in this restaurant a few times and always found it pretty ok; however I went there on the 31st of may with eight other friends and was not impressed no lamb available (even though on the menu) only one brand of beer (more than one brand on the menu) only wine available was cheap house wine staff forgot some deserts (eventually arrived when everyone was finished)

The Small & Beautiful restaurant is an absolute gem. Intimate, romantic and great food. The staff are lovely, really friendly and helpful without intruding on your meal. I even have several friends who have got engaged after a few dates here...

An excellent value for the money - bistro quality food (very good), atmosphere (very good) and service (pretty good considering that the place was completely full) for much less then you will pay in similar restaurants in London.

Please note that there is more than one 'Small and Beautiful' and I have a feeling that reviewers are reviewing same-named restaurants all over London.

To sum up and save my breath, the 'Small and Beautiful' restaurant in Finsbury Park:

1. Food Very average - some people don't know what real, tasty, well cooked and ingredients food is. Yes, you must be the people who don't know how to cook!

2. Staff - service totally rude and poor!

3. Atmosphere - only 4 people in the restaurant so what where is the reeeeeeal atmosphere?

4. Value for money: OK prices for a local joint.

This Restaurant its just cute!!! As the name say small and beautifulll!! But I need to add that the food is really tasty and the atmosphere is very relaxing, I was amazed by the simpathy of the staff, and waiters...

I am going back for sureee!!!

I was in the kilburn area and i went to an caffe-restraunt called the Small & Beautifull. as i came in a waiter came over and set me at a table and asked for the drinks that i would reqriure. there were some new news papers on a shelff for people like me so we could read while having an excelent exspresso.The atmosphere was calm and relaxed.Overall it was a good expiriance.Dont miss the Small & beautifull on kilburn high roed

I went to this really cool restaurant last night as I had passed by it numerous times, and had noticed there was always a lot of people there, thought I would give it a go. Boy was I glad, Im still thinking of how good the food was this morning, not to mention the cost, it was very reasonable. Between 2 of us we shared the fresh sumptious prawns for entree, then the sea bass which was just delicious, and the the knob leg of lamb, which the meat just melted away from the bone. Normally I wouldn't go dessert, as I was absolutely full, but the chocolate mousse cake did not disappoint, it wasn't a big helping which did me fine. All in all i think this restuarant was fantastic, although there were people being turned away because it was full to capacity, the waiters didn't hurry you off the tables and were exceptionally friendly. Very enjoyable experience I must say.

After reading many positive reviews and being enticed by the quirky interior and promise of a good night out I rounded up a couple of friends and decided to give Small & Beautiful a try.

It's a good time to mention that I have never before been provoked to share my views on an eating experience as strongly as tonights.

From the start, the staff's excuse for service was dished out with attitude bordering on aggression. The whole night I couldn't help but feel that a group of East European mafia had captured the friendly staff, locked them away in the freezer and taken over the restaurant to be used for some elaborate gangland assassination. A pervasive sense of nervous pressure emanated from all the waiters encouraged by the shorn headed kingpin maitre d. Not once did I notice a smile or sense of genuine attention from anyone.

Our collective (party of 9) opinion of the food was overwhelmingly mediocre. The extent being a begrudging "Hmmm...i guess It was ok...".

I wholeheartedly recommend that you stay far away from this establishment unless you have a penchant for cafe dining in a Siberian gulag.
