Two Brothers Fish Restaurant
your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne
For the past ten years I have been intrigued by the Two Brothers Fish Restaurant on Finchley Road, as it always seemed to be jam packed. So as curiousity was about to kill the cat, my boyfriend and I decided to dine in the restaurant section yesterday evening. As usual, everyone was packed in there like sardines and I had to squeeze myself between our table and the people beside us to my seat. So to begin with, the tables are so close together, there is no privacy. But the decor of the restaurant is very nice and fresh.
We ordered Cod, Scampi and chips - the food arrived quickly in generous portions. The chips were perfect and delicious, as was the cod - it was tender and the batter was perfectly crisp. However the scampi was just mediocre - quite plain and to look at . They came with tartar sauce which could have been tastier. It was very oily and had no distinct taste. The meal came to £26 which included a glass of coke and water. The dinner was satisfactory, but no way worth that amount. Having said that, the staff were very efficient and friendly.
Maybe I was expecting the best tucker on earth from Two Brothers, but I have learnt my lesson to never judge the quality of restaurant by how busy it is. The Seashell on Lisson Grove is much better - but for a local north London chippy, I think we will be trying out Toffs next.

I have eaten here regularly for the last 16 years, and i am only 23, and have never once had a complaint. That means I have eaten there at least 100, if not 200 times. The smokies are amazing and the fish always fresh and nicely cooked. I would obviously criticize the decor and the size of the restaurant, but only one of those can be helped. The takeaway is not so amazing, although the food is still superior, the staff are lazy and complacent.
Overall I would say this is on a par with the Sea Shell of Lisson Grove, which is good praise i hope. Certainly give it a go, I hope you wouldn't be disappointed.

Not as good as Mister Eaters in Preston, was disappointed with the service and the over cooked fish. The atmosphere made the visit worthwhile.

I've only used their take away service. It's excellent. There's always a great selection of fish and there's always a queue. Good size portions and great value for money.

Just simply the best fish and chips in London. The Plaice, off the bone, is amazing and I visit at least once a month.

Best fish and chips I've ever had - and I'm a Northerner so I've had a fair few! Take-away service VERY slow, need more people serving. But can those fryers fry! Bloody marvellous.

This is a legend of a fich and chip shop! The food is consistently good. The Smokies are a luxurious treat and the battered fish is the best I've ever had. It is the sort of place where you feel comfortable trying some of the different items on a menu that you haven't had confidence to trust elsewhere.
If you go on a Friday or Saturday night, then you will have to wait and this isn't a big restaurant either. It is a bit awkward when you have to queue around the diners waiting your turn! But that is actually testament to the quality of this establishment - it isn't large but people are prepared to wait for an hour in a queue just to eat there. If if were poor quality then that just wouldn't happen would it? Its one of my moans about modern dining that you cannot book a table in many restaurants anymore.
The staff are always friendly - even in the busy periods when obviously rushed off thier feet.

This was the most astounding experience in dining i have ever had! I went there with my family and was thrilled to find a man offered us free champagne because it was the owners birthday! The generosity of this simple restraunt astounded my family and I.
The Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to cater to our needs.
Overall a good experience by yourself, with your family, or out with friends.
Please do not believe naysayers and bad reviews, try the restraunt out!
