Weng Wah House

I used to think WWH was a good-value Chinese restaurant. Last night unfortunately after more than a year I got a take away, and I was left extremely disappointed. When the food arrived it was barely warm, and I had to re-heat it. I had ordered sweet and sour chicken, capital spare ribs, egg frid rice and mini spring rolls. The capital spare ribs were not the same juicy ribs I used to eat, the rice was more like Uncle Ben's rather than proper Chinese rice, and appeared to be undercooked (I actually doubt it was freshly cooked). The spring rolls were not crunchy but rather soggy, as if they were old. The sweet and sour chicken came with very little sauce, the batter was not crispy and the chicken itself was underseasoned.

Overall I was very disappointed because I have always thought this was a good Chinese. I haven't eaten there for quite some time, so maybe the ownership has changed or the chef has, but I wouldn't wish to recommend it, I'm afraid.

One of those places you wished you hadn't gone to.

- Rude and aggressive staff,

- Mediocre food 'drowned' in MSG,

- Most dishes taste the same,

- No distinct flavors,

- Not even minimal effort put into preparation,

- Cheap / mass produces bulk ingredients,

A scary experience all together, no idea how this absolutely shameful restaurant got such a 'high' rating up till now.

Never again...

Wow! The food here is amazing and the service excellent. We were treated really well and were able to have a giggle with the manager and staff. The decor is not the poshest but that just adds to its charm, in a way, and is in no way detrimental to the quality of the food, which is divine. It's also a decent price and I defy anyone to leave here hungry. The veggie options are clearly marked and they're not as boring as in a lot of other places, making the choice difficult because of the wide range rather than having only one token vegetarian effort. This was refreshing and made the evening pleasant. We'll definitely be back soon and I'll recommend this place to anyone who wants good quality Chinese food.

Went there on Friday, service was pitiful, staff were rude and when we called the manager he was rude too. We had made a karaoke booking with a set menu price, when we got there they had decided to change the price and the menu! Would not go again
